Furthermore, not clinging to any characteristics is the middle forbearance. These are the unborn, and so on. 23-36 Moreover, when the consciousness of clinging arises slightly as a clear appearance in the unapprehendable nature, then the clinging to appearances such as forms ceases. Although the mind abides in the appearance, it does not give rise to clinging to its characteristics, and in that realm of no characteristics, free from the seer and the seen, abiding in a state of non-fabrication is the great forbearance. These are the immaculate without characteristics, and so on. To abide in the equality of the essence of all phenomena, free from the three—arising, ceasing, and abiding—is not the basis for the object of the supreme Dharma. And the samadhi called "all phenomena are unborn," the Heroic Progress, the Precious Seal, and so on—the one hundred and twenty-one samadhis spoken of in the sutras—are the means to quickly attain Buddhahood. Although they are empty in nature, they should be attained in order to manifest qualities. Thus, generate a strong desire for those samadhis, and hold that desire with the view of emptiness, which is the small supreme Dharma, that is, the activity of that samadhi, and so on. At that time, the manifestation of duality and conceptual thought ceases, so even in the subsequent attainment, clinging to characteristics does not arise. When the Buddhas directly prophesy, by meditating that the nature of the one who prophesies and the one who is prophesied are inseparable, the notions and pride cease, which is the intermediate supreme Dharma. Prophecy, and so on. In equipoise, when all manifestations of duality cease, the object of meditation, the perfection; the meditation, the samadhi; and the meditator, the Bodhisattva—the three are established as being without difference in meaning, except for the difference in names, and directly seeing that is the great supreme Dharma. The three are mutually, and so on. At those times, the distinctions of what is to be abandoned and what is to be realized, and the signs of the qualities spoken of in the fifth chapter—the four of increasing, stable, mind-abiding, and peak union—and the signs of irreversibility of the path of joining in the fourth chapter will arise. Furthermore, one must accomplish fourteen qualities and abandon forty-six faults, and in order to perfect all the characteristics, to those

It is also necessary. In order to gradually elevate each one, the gradual practice is in accordance with giving. Thinking extensively about the merits of giving, and preventing the grasping of the grasper and the grasped, etc., (practicing) the six perfections, remembering all the qualities of the Buddha, especially generating faith. In order to prevent attachment to such qualities and the Buddha who possesses qualities, contemplating them as emptiness is the recollection of the Buddha. Therefore, after preventing these six recollections and the appearance of conventional truth, meditating on the meaning of selflessness is the yoga of unreal nature. These thirteen should be practiced repeatedly in order. Whether in meditation or post-meditation, when practicing the six perfections, it is necessary to have both understanding and accomplishment in intention, and both entry and accomplishment in practice. In this way, the accumulation of the two accumulations can also be accomplished. Gradually, the principle of elevating, and understanding, entering, and accumulating the three, is the same in the noble path between the beginning and end of permanence. Since the noble path arises as the nature of the result, the causal accumulations that produce them do not need to be sought separately from those mentioned above. Realization comes from knowing their establishment in detail, and bondage needs to be understood in this way: the instructions on the path of seeing, and the time of seeing the path of knowledge, and the time of seeing the path of the base of knowledge, and the way in which the path of seeing in the fourth period becomes the antidote to the four conceptualizations, and the detailed determination of the establishment of the path of seeing by combining the signs of the fourth irreversible, and the instructions on the path of meditation, and the actions of the second period of the path of meditation, the path of meditation, accomplishing faith, aspiration, and mindfulness, pure path of meditation, and the establishment of the fourth period of the path of meditation, etc., and the way in which the fifth path of meditation becomes the antidote to the four conceptualizations, after making the overall establishment of the path of meditation, in each of the ten individual grounds, the accumulation of the grounds is accomplished, and complete purification, etc., and the accomplishment of renunciation temporarily by the three pure grounds, and the momentary practice in the period of permanence and cessation, and the practice of equality of existence and peace that is needed in those, the practice of pure land, the practice of skillful means, etc. The stages of base, path, and fruit.

That which is immutable in all times and places is the basis for practice, the Dharmadhatu. What is the essence of how to practice? It is to sequentially focus on the eleven objects of focus. Thus, there is preliminary focus, four root great focuses for entering, eight for the path of accumulation, twelve for the path of preparation, and thirteen for the ultimate, totaling forty-eight great focuses, and many minor focuses. The result of cultivating the path in this way is the explanation of the three essential tasks and the three bodies with their activities. Thus, this method of the path is the way of the Prajnaparamita in the Mahayana, which is mainly the practice of profound wisdom and emptiness. Although there are many famous instructions on it, the meaning of Maitreya's treatise is like the king of all. This was spoken by Taranatha at the urging of Kunga Lekdrup of the Kagyu school. May virtue and goodness increase. (Original text: Old manuscript of the Ten Fruition Places, page 399)
