I take refuge in the earth. I take refuge in the Sangha residing in the ten directions. I prostrate and take refuge in the assembly of gurus and yidams, the wisdom protectors, the six-armed protectors, together with their retinues. I pray that the root and lineage gurus and the assembly of yidams will bless me to realize the understanding of Mahamudra. I pray that the dakinis and dharma protectors will ensure that no outer or inner obstacles arise when I request and practice Mahamudra. Pray in this way three times. Cause them to have devotion and longing for the root guru. With the essential points of the body, let the breath flow naturally. Visualize that all the assemblies of gurus, yidams, and dakinis dissolve into light and are absorbed into the student himself, and relax for a moment. Let him look directly at the nature of his mind, and let him rest in equanimity for a moment. Now, this mind is free from all grasping, naked and bare. This is the unborn dharmakaya of one's own mind, or it is called ordinary awareness, or it is called natural abiding. From now on, in all activities, maintain this without fabrication. Offering mandalas and making aspirations are in accordance with the common practice. Secondly, the preliminary practice of the session is as before. In all situations, one should be mindful. After repeatedly making this aspiration. When the mind rests on the object of focus. Just turn the mouth inward and recognize one's own nature. Rest in a state without fabrication. Whatever arises as an appearance of objects, or whatever arises as an appearance of thoughts, do not deliberately reject, establish, accept, or abandon it. In whatever arises, just recognize its own nature, and rest in this state, so that the thoughts themselves, without being interrupted, become clear and bright. Maintain this state. Do not let a single thought fall into a state of not recognizing its own nature. As long as you do not separate from the recognition of your own nature, whether it moves or let it move, whether it returns or let it return, focus on mindfulness. There is nothing to meditate on here. There is not even a moment to be distracted. At that very moment, introduce the four faults as being self-liberated, too close so you don't know the face. Too deep, you can't grasp the face. Too easy, you don't believe it. Too good, you can't fit it in your mind, and you are freed from these four faults. The first is not knowing your own nature.

Secondly, although ordinary consciousness often manifested its own clear nature during experiences such as death and exhaustion, it was not recognized by any means until the guru's instructions directly pointed it out. Thirdly, the belief that there is nothing to be done by both the wise and the foolish was not accepted. Fourthly, the mind's own nature as Buddha was not accommodated. In this, all abiding and moving, merely recognizing one's own nature, abides in the nature of emptiness and clarity. Therefore, there is no need to modify whatever arises. When one knows that there is no samsara or nirvana separate from this nature of clarity and emptiness, then these four faults are self-liberated. The Subsequent Instructions on the Spontaneous Arising of the Three Kayas. Third, the subsequent spontaneous arising of the three kayas involves directly introducing the spontaneous arising of the three kayas and enhancing its power. Firstly, the ordinary consciousness of the past, the unaltered original state, from the very beginning, recognizing its own nature as the spontaneous arising of emptiness and clarity as inseparable, thereby ascertaining emptiness as the Dharmakaya, clarity as the Nirmanakaya, and inseparability as the Sambhogakaya, and cultivating it in its natural state. When experiencing it in this way, every moment of mind meets the three kayas, and every moment of conceptual thought is the nature of the three kayas. Having arisen in experience in this way, it must be constantly cultivated. Secondly, it is divided into enhancing power and eliminating obstacles. The first part involves enhancing power through boundless devotion, enhancing power through boundless compassion, and enhancing power through special methods. Firstly, if common realization arises, devotion naturally arises, and for sentient beings who have not realized, compassion will also naturally arise, but again, cultivating devotion and compassion, like adding wood to a burning fire, will greatly increase, thus making the enhancement of the path unparalleled. Thus, while repeatedly cultivating the path of Mahamudra, intensely cultivating devotion and compassion will ultimately become a means of realization. Among them, devotion generally means that the root guru himself is the actual Buddha, and the guru's mind is the Dharmakaya, all of his activities and altruistic deeds are the two forms of the Rupakaya for the benefit of others, determining that the guru is the embodiment of all Buddhas, Bodhisattvas, Yidams, Dakinis, and Dharma Protectors.
