So it is. 17-710 There is no higher state than that. The "Guru of Gurus" refers to the Bodhi of Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas, and the Guru higher than that is the unsurpassed Bodhi. Just as reciting "The Highest of the Highest," these two are merely mentioned from the perspective of names, but there is no other meaning in reality. Therefore, from the Sutra itself and many texts, it seems better to mention only one of them. In this way, through the power of accumulating virtuous roots, may such a state be attained. The third is: Like the Buddhas of the past, etc. Although we ordinary beings have made many aspirations, such as dedicating to Bodhi and benefiting others, which we consider to be vast, it is actually difficult to become vast. Therefore, all the aspirations of the Buddhas of the three times, past, present, and future, may they all be accomplished through these virtues of mine. By saying this, it becomes a dedication that enters the boundless ocean of aspirations. Explanation of the Condensed Daily Confession. The second of the fundamental condensed meanings is the explanation of the Condensed Daily Confession, which is both a collection of previous content and a supplement to the previously unexpressed rejoicing, supplication, etc. The refuge, which was previously briefly explained, is again explained in detail here, and it is also explained that the ultimate refuge is one. That is, from "All sins are confessed individually" onwards, there is one sentence each for confession, rejoicing, supplication, and dedication, and one verse for refuge. Others besides these are easy to understand. Supplication is: urging the most excellent emanation body, who shows the aspect of having just attained Bodhi, to turn the wheel of Dharma, and urging those who wish to pass into Nirvana not to pass into Nirvana, these are the two explanations. Indeed, it is so, and not only that, but it also explains all supplications for desired meanings. The meaning of what is desired is mainly benefiting others, that is, saving the suffering of sentient beings, etc. The supreme of unsurpassed wisdom is the Svabhavikakaya of the Buddhas, that is, the state of all aspects. The Supreme of Men and the Victorious One are synonyms for the name of the Buddha.

Previously, it was only said, "I take refuge in the Buddha," But here it is extensively divided: whether it is the Buddhas who are currently abiding, or the Buddhas who have already shown the manner of passing away, as well as those who have not yet come but will come in the future, all the Buddhas are mentioned. The term of dividing the Buddhas into the three times is based on appearing in impure realms. In the Akaniṣṭha Ghanavyūha realm and so on, all are still abiding now. However, one might wonder how the Buddhas who have not yet come abide. From the perspective of conventional terminology, although it is not considered that they actually exist, it is for the purpose of generating faith and training the mind, that one takes refuge in them. In the definitive sense, the great ocean of wisdom is eternally abiding. This alone, which is now placed as the object of devotion, is what the future ones are to attain. Therefore, by taking refuge in the three bodies of the past and present, the basis for saying the future three bodies is also included in that. The distinction of the Buddha Jewel is that it is both a quality and an object of praise and veneration, limitless like a wondrous ocean of Dharma, which means all beings who possess these qualities. How is it done? By joining the palms and bowing respectfully. Here, only 17-712 the Buddha is mentioned as the object of refuge. Generally, after taking refuge in the Buddha, the other two Jewels are also implicitly included, and the ultimate refuge is also considered to be the sole Buddha. Thus, the meaning of the Bodhi Confession of Transgressions has been briefly explained. Regarding this Dharma category, in the translated treatises currently existing in Tibet, there seem to be two commentaries: one said to be written by Dze-ta-ri and translated by the Tshogs translator, and another said to be written by Nāgārjuna and translated by Paṇḍita Śāntarakṣita and the translator Nyi-ba-lha'i. But it seems that they were not written by these two teachers. Although they are Indian commentaries, there are still doubts. In terms of meaning, there are well-explained parts, and there are also various errors. Lord Dharma Paṇḍita said: In the Confession of Transgressions, in the Buddha's hand symbols, there are a shield and a sword.

Holding etc. The practice method Buddha did not speak. It is said that Nagarjuna made it, and it seems to refer to the practice method of holding swords and armor. However, it can be studied a little. If it is explained within the secret mantra, then the Buddha fully attained Buddhahood, the image of being free from attachment, and the practice method of holding weapons may also appear. If it is the oral instruction of accomplished masters, it is not entirely negated, because there are many other valid practice methods of holding contradictory attire. If it is explained like the Sutra school, then it is certainly unreasonable. I have also extracted some advantages from those two commentaries, and also slightly clarified with the explanation of the Compendium of Trainings, the extended meaning of the verses of the Guide to the Bodhisattva's Way of Life, and the parts related to this Dharma in the teachings of the ancient saints. For the most part, I have spoken what is clearly seen in the text itself. If you need the definitive meaning of refuge and the principles of karma, etc., then you should learn from other sources. Because only the temporary meaning of the words is easy to understand, here I explain the key points of the meaning in a concise and difficult-to-explain way, and I think the purpose can be achieved. This is also what Tāranātha said. May there be auspiciousness! Checked once.
