These stars are in hidden positions and cannot be seen; they cause eclipses when they meet the sun and moon, and are called eclipse deities. Ketu (计都) is the tail of the eclipse deity, also known as Leopard Tail. If one's annual cycle reaches this constellation, one must draw the form of the deity being offended, make offerings in a deep chamber, and burn money to avert misfortune, then disasters will not arise. If one encounters an evil star, one must avert it; if one does not go against what has been offended, then misfortune will turn into good fortune; if one does not believe, then good fortune will turn into misfortune. Meeting a lucky star brings repeated joy and blessings; meeting an evil star brings calamities. It is absolutely forbidden to urinate towards the Big Dipper, as this will shorten one's lifespan. One should contemplate truth and hold good thoughts, so as to obtain blessings and wealth. If one does not perform propitiatory rites, various disasters will arise in succession. Ge Xian Gong's Method of Worshipping the Big Dipper The star lords guarding Shangxuan, the Ninth Heaven, the North Pole, and the Big Dipper, from kings and nobles to ordinary people, all belong to the jurisdiction of the seven stars of the Big Dipper. One must always respect the Big Dipper, so that one will not encounter unexpected disasters and evil events. Universally helping people in distress can prolong life and eliminate various calamities. Together with one's Ben Ming Yuan Shen (original spirit of natal destiny), sincerely making offerings can fulfill people's destiny and fortune. Disasters, misfortunes, confusion, and blockages are all due to disrespecting the star images and not knowing that one has offended the stars. Walking in darkness, disasters will naturally come.
