English version Then he further addressed the Buddha, saying: 'World-Honored One, I will now speak of the mudras (mudra, hand gestures) within the Ordinary Lotus Division. After joining the palms in space, scattering the water, fire, and wind (fingers). The mantra of the Lotus Division is: Om namo sarva tathāgatānām padmo-dbhavāya svāhā. After raising the wisdom feather palm, the space finger is pressed against the nail of the water finger. This is the rosary mudra. The mantra is as above. (Pronounced with emphasis) Prasphura The meditation fist with the space finger erect is the staff mudra of Avalokiteśvara (Guanyin, the Bodhisattva of Compassion). The meditation fist with the space and fire fingers erect is the water vessel mudra of Avalokiteśvara. The hands are bound inward, with the two space fingers erect, slightly bending their upper joints. This is the Hayagriva (horse-headed deity) mudra (the mantras for the above three mudras are as previously stated). The hands are bound inward, the wind fingers extended and joined, and the two space fingers are also erected together. This is the Second Mind mudra. The unchanging Second Mind. The wind fingers touch each other like a ring. This is the White-Robed Avalokiteśvara mudra. The mantra is: Om kati vikati katah khatti svāhā. The hands are bound inward, this is the Thousand-Eyed mudra. World-Honored One, such mudras as these accomplish all benefits and interests. I have already proclaimed them in other Dharma methods, and they can also accomplish the Thousand Hands and Thousand Eyes Dharma method. Again, he addressed the Buddha, saying: 'World-Honored One, in order for practitioners to accomplish the mantra Dharma, to remove all obstacles, and to receive the blessings and protection of the original deity, they should draw a square mandala (mandala, a symbolic diagram) on the wall of a clean room. The person drawing should observe the eight precepts, and mix the various colors without using hide glue. Within the mandala, draw a hundred-petaled blooming lotus flower, complete with the womb and stamen. In the center of the womb, write this mantra. The mantra is: Om padmo-dbhavāya svāhā. On the right side of the lotus, draw a rosary; on the left side, a water vessel; above the lotus, draw a divine thread; below, a staff. Offer incense and flowers. In front of this altar, form all the mudras. By performing such a practice, all undertakings and all symbolic seals will be accomplished. English version: Countless kalpas also cannot exhaust it. This Dharma was already proclaimed in the past by Vajragarbha Bodhisattva (Vajragarbha Bodhisattva). The mantras of my clan, the Vajra clan mantras, all rely on this Dharma to attain Siddhi (Siddhi, accomplishment). All the mantras of the worldly devas, Brahma (Brahma), Narayana (Narayana), Maheshvara (Maheshvara), Kumara (Kumara), the assembly of heavenly mothers, the devas, Garuda (Garuda), and all the ghosts and spirits, also rely on this Dharma to attain Siddhi. Because of reciting this, one can enter all Mandalas (Mandala, sacred space). All sentient beings should respectfully remember it. All five heinous offenses will be extinguished. At the time of death, Avalokiteśvara Bodhisattva (Avalokiteśvara) will appear before them and expound the Dharma. After death, they will be reborn in the Tushita Heaven (Tushita Heaven), and will not fall into the three evil realms. Or if there are sentient beings who do not believe in the Three Jewels and are very stingy, even if they temporarily hear this sutra or even recite it, they will soon achieve accomplishment. How much more so for those who have pure faith in the Three Jewels? At that time, the Tathagata praised Avalokiteśvara Bodhisattva, saying: 'Excellent, excellent, great Mahasattva (Mahasattva), Great compassion abides in the position of a great Mahasattva, You now proclaim the great Mantra King, For the benefit and happiness of sentient beings with pure faith.' After Avalokiteśvara Bodhisattva finished speaking this sutra, all the great Bodhisattvas and Arhats, the devas, dragons, Yakshas (Yaksa), Kinnaras (Kinnara), Mahoragas (Mahoraga), etc., were all very happy, believed, accepted, and practiced it.
