Sonam Gyaltsen's Teachings SG27 Abridged Protective Wheel of Glorious Kalachakra 1-2947 ༄༅། །Abridged Protective Wheel of Glorious Kalachakra. ༄། །Preliminary. ༄༅། །Abridged Protective Wheel of Glorious Kalachakra. Abridged Protective Wheel of Glorious Kalachakra. Homage to the Guru and Glorious Kalachakra. Homage to Vajra Power. For the purpose of empowerment in the condensed mandalas such as the heart mandala, I shall explain the abridged protective wheel. This has three parts: preliminary, main part, and concluding part. First is: The ritual of purifying hands and mouth, purification of body, speech, mind, and wisdom, arranging the six lineages on the body, arranging the six branches, the ritual of arranging the six branches, offering to the land spirit and local deities, visualizing oneself as the Vajra body, the ritual of subduing the Maras, the ritual of striking the obstacles with the Vajra Kilaya. The first two are done according to the sadhana. The third is: On one's forehead, from Oṃ (藏文：ཨོཾ，梵文天城体：ओम्，梵文罗马拟音：oṃ，汉语字面意思：Seed syllable Oṃ) arises white Amitabha, with white, black, and red faces. The right hand holds an axe, a spear, and a trident, the left hand holds a white lotus with eight petals, a mirror, and a rosary. At the throat, from Āḥ (藏文：ཨཱཿ，梵文天城体：आः，梵文罗马拟音：āḥ，汉语字面意思：Seed syllable Āḥ) arises red Ratnasambhava, with red, white, and black faces. The right hand holds a flaming arrow, a Vajra hook, and a Damaru with sound, the left hand holds a bow, a Vajra lasso, and nine precious ornaments. At the heart, from Hūṃ (藏文：ཧཱུྃ，梵文天城体：हुँ，梵文罗马拟音：hūṃ，汉语字面意思：Seed syllable Hūṃ) arises black Amoghasiddhi, with black, red, and white faces. The right hand holds a sword, a curved knife, and a trident, the left hand holds a shield, a skull cup, and a white Khatvanga. At the navel, from Hoḥ (藏文：ཧོཿ，梵文天城体：हॊः，梵文罗马拟音：hoḥ，汉语字面意思：Seed syllable Hoḥ) arises yellow Vairocana, with yellow, white, and black faces. The right hand holds a wheel, a staff, and a Vajra club, the left hand holds a conch shell, an iron chain, and a bell with sound. At the crown of the head, from Haṃ (藏文：ཧཾ，梵文天城体：हं，梵文罗马拟音：haṃ，汉语字面意思：Seed syllable Haṃ) arises green Akshobhya. 1-2948 With green, red, and white faces. The right hand holds a Vajra, a curved knife, and an axe, the left hand holds a bell, a skull cup, and a Brahma head. At the secret place, from Kṣaḥ (藏文：ཀྵཿ，梵文天城体：क्ष，梵文罗马拟音：kṣa，汉语字面意思：Seed syllable Kṣaḥ) arises blue Vajrasattva, with blue, red, and white faces. The hand symbols are the same as before. The fourth is: Joining the palms of the hands, touching the heart with the two thumbs, reciting: Oṃ Hṛlīṃ Hṛdayāya Namaḥ (藏文：ཨོཾ་ཧྲལྀཾ་ཧྲྀ་ད་ཡཱ་ཡ་ན་མཿ). At the head, reciting: Oṃ Hūṃ Sirase Svāhā (藏文：ཨོཾ་ཧཱུཾ་སི་ར་སེ་སྭཱ་ཧཱ།). At the crown of the head, reciting: Oṃ Hraṃ Śikhāye Vauṣaṭ (藏文：ཨོཾ་ཧྲཾ་ཤི་ཁཱ་ཡེ་བཽ་ཥཊ།). On all the limbs, reciting: Oṃ Hrīṃ Kavacāye Hūṃ (藏文：ཨོཾ་ཧྲྀཾ་ཀ་བ་ཙ་ཡེ་ཧཱུཾ།). At the eyes, reciting: Oṃ Hrāṃ Netrāya Vauṣaṭ (藏文：ཨོཾ་ཧྲཱྃ་ནཻ་ཏྲ་ཡ་བ་ཥཊ།). For virtuous deeds, use the left hand, for non-virtuous deeds, use the ring finger of the thumb and forefinger of the right hand to indicate, reciting: Oṃ Hrīḥ Asatraya Phaṭ (藏文：ཨོཾ་ཧྲཱྀཿ ཨསཏྲ་ཡ་ཕཊ་). Reciting: Oṃ Sarva Tathāgata Hṛdaya Sira Śikhā Kavaca Netra Asatra Vajra Ṣaḍaṃga Svabhāva Ātmako Haṃ (藏文：ཨོཾ་སརྦ་ཏ་ཐཱ་ག་ཏ་ཧྲྀ་ད་ཡ་སི་ར་ཤི་ཁཱ་ཀ་བ་ཙ་ནཻ་ཏྲ་ཨསཏྲ་བཛྲ་ཥ་ཌཾ་ག་སྭ་བྷཱ་ཝ་ཨཱཏྨ་ཀོ་ཧཾ་), generate pride.
