What is planted, the fruit will be the same.’ This is dedication. The content of dedication, as stated in the ‘Extensive Sutra’: ‘All beings' actions, whether done, being done, or will be done,’ and as stated in the ‘Vajra Banner Sutra’: ‘How is the nature of suchness, how is the self-nature of suchness, how is the characteristic of suchness, all such actions, may they be completely dedicated.’ The way of dedication is: Without object of focus. As stated in the ‘Ornament of Clear Realization’: ‘That is the aspect of having no object of focus.’ By dedicating in this way, the merit will not be exhausted. As stated in the ‘Samadhi King Sutra’: ‘Like a drop of water falling into the great ocean, the ocean not exhausted, the drop not exhausted. Likewise, the merit of dedicating to Bodhi, until Bodhi is not attained, the merit is not exhausted.’ Thus, from the precious treasury of the words of the Buddhas, take out the source of perfect jewels that benefit oneself and others. From the ocean of nectar of the words of the Sutras, Tantras, and Gurus, guided by the compassionate helmsman of Manjushri, adorned with the courage of wisdom and the jewel of knowledge. Enriched by the streams of pure activities. From the Jewel Island, in order to receive the blessing of the accomplished Naga King's teachings, I have done this. May this merit, like the waxing moon, grow completely from above to above. Completely eliminate the heat of all faults, may all beings be cooled by the light of great bliss. This is the teaching of Je Dakpo Rinpoche. From the mouth of the Protector of Beings, Phagmo Drupa, the proficient and realized oral instructions received by the successive lamas of Khro Phu Monastery, this guiding text that reveals Mahamudra, together with the introduction. In order to guide immeasurable fortunate beings, renowned for the qualities of scripture and realization, before Gyaltsen Zhap, the eighth Rinpoche of the Phagmo Dru seat, I took on the burden of his teachings to the best of my ability. With the help of the virtuous friend Yonten Bum, the Bhikshu Sonam of Avadhuti completed this work in the great temple of the auspicious Samye Monastery. May all be auspicious! May all be well! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
