Sonam Gyaltsen's Instructions SG22: Commentary on the Great Empowerment Practice 1-2736 ༄༅། །Commentary on the Great Empowerment Practice ༄། །Meaning of the Introduction ༄༅། །Commentary on the Great Empowerment Practice. ཤྲཱི་གུ་ར་ཝེ། ན་མཿཤྲཱི་ཀཱ་ལ་ཙཀྲཱ་ཡ།(Tibetan, Devanagari, Romanized Sanskrit, Literal Meaning)श्री गुरुवे नमः श्री कालचक्राय,śrī gurave namaḥ śrī kālacakrāya,Homage to the Guru, Homage to Shri Kalachakra. The explanation called 'The Essence of Yoga,' which is the 'Great Empowerment Practice: The Secret Near Path.' I respectfully bow to the Guru, Yidam, and assembly of Dakinis! Thus. In the fire of great non-dual wisdom, Burning away the endless thickets of obscurations, Endowed with all supreme qualities, infinite body, speech, and mind, I bow to Kalachakra, who transcends the limits of existence and peace. Who sees the Dharmakaya as the great bliss of emptiness, And having seen it, shows the path to those who are fit vessels, Showing the path of inseparable bliss and emptiness, I bow to the feet of the Guru who has reached the culmination of experience and realization. His vajra words of instruction, Difficult to understand, for the benefit of others, Abandoning exaggeration and distortion, from the oral teachings, I will explain as it arises. 1-2737 Here, the 'Secret Near Path' of the Empowerment Practice has three meanings: the meaning of the introduction, the meaning of the main text, and the activity of the conclusion. The first has six parts: Asking for forgiveness is asking my Guru, who is the essence of all Buddhas of the three times, Chöpal Zangpo (chos dpal bzang po), who personally practiced the empowerment wind yoga, to eliminate obstacles for oneself and others, and to generate special realizations. When writing down the instructions, for the benefit of beings through various emanations, in the places where Dakinis travel in space, the yoginis born from mantra, please forgive me! This is the meaning of 'དེ་ལ་ཞེས་སོགས་ཤོ་ལོ་ཀ་གཅིག་གོ།' (Tibetan). Secondly, wishing for beings to realize, like myself, infinite sentient beings. The 'Letter to a Friend' says: 'If the amount of mother's milk were collected, it would exceed the water of the oceans of the world.' Likewise, may all beings who have been my mothers since beginningless time have the special realization of essence as bliss, appearance as clarity, and nature as non-conceptual, blazing in their body and mind! This is the meaning of one verse. Thirdly, the way to experience: three lines, that is, the body, speech, and mind, together with wisdom, are empowered by the four empowerments, and by practicing the four limbs of the generation stage and completion stage, and the four vajra yogas, the four obscurations are purified. 1-2738 The external symbolic Guru, to establish the interdependence of the four bodies, introduces the inner Guru who guides the yogi's own mind to experience the special path, thereby generating experience. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Thus it arises. Fourth, the benefits of diligence, there are three points: If one is diligent in the yoga below, one knows from one's own experience and pure scriptural authority that in this life and in future lives, happiness with desirable characteristics will arise as a result. As the 'Condensed Tantra' says: 'From the definitive empowerment of the lama, one should meditate on the forms of smoke etc. in space. Then, one should also stabilize the prana and downward moving winds in the chakras of the channels. Also, just as the moon is obscured by Rahu, so should the yogi. Whoever wants to surpass it will obtain a little arising of days and nights in this life.' Also, as the 'Whispered Transmission' says: 'Seeing the signs of gathering separately, if death occurs, then one will meet the sacred path, and then one will attain accomplishment.' Also, as the 'Praise of Names' says: 'Accomplishing meaning, accomplishing thought, abandoning all thoughts, the non-conceptual realm is inexhaustible, the sacred dharma realm is unknowable.' Fifth, wishing to be in accordance with the two benefits, there are two points: For the sake of benefiting others in this life and in the future, may those who desire to obtain the temporary and ultimate fruits for themselves and others meet with the experience of the yogi and the forceful instructions shown by the lama. Sixth, the commitment to teach: 'Will teach' is straightforward. What will be taught? The forceful instructions. Why teach it? Because in general, mantra is the path for individuals of supreme faculty, and within that there are three: lower, middle, and supreme. For the path of those who have become supreme faculty, it generates the supreme unchanging samadhi represented by ཨེ་ཝཾ(藏文,梵文天城体:एवं,梵文罗马拟音:evaṃ,汉语字面意思:Thus). In the supreme unchanging, the Bhagavan Kalachakra, who is thus successively taught, is said by the Victorious Ones to have gathered all the tantras into the Vajrasattva in the form of ཨེ་ཝཾ(藏文,梵文天城体:एवं,梵文罗马拟音:evaṃ,汉语字面意思:Thus). Thus, the key point of the six-branch yoga is the collection of the essence of all the tantras. Among them, the life force that moves greatly in the left and right channels, without moving in the central channel, is repeated by the limb of the indivisible central channel, and the two, holding the life force without moving to the forehead, are the path to quickly generate this supreme unchanging samadhi in the continuum, and from holding the life force, the samadhi is generated even more quickly, because it is the forceful path.' What is the nature of what is to be taught? --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
