Shambala Kagyu Instructions NG29: The Empowerment of the Six-Armed Wisdom Protector, Called 'Dispelling All Obstacles,' is Herein Contained. The Empowerment of the Six-Armed Wisdom Protector, Called 'Dispelling All Obstacles,' is Herein Contained. Preparation. The Empowerment of the Six-Armed Wisdom Protector, Called 'Dispelling All Obstacles,' is Herein Contained. Homage to the Guru and Protector, inseparable! Herein, regarding the method of the empowerment of the swift-acting Wisdom Protector, the Six-Armed One, called 'Dispelling All Obstacles': In this land of Tibet, many learned and ignorant individuals have broadly covered it with empowerments of other Dharma protectors, and some have adorned it with self-made appearances and various embellishments, resulting in a mixture of practices. However, we should set these aside indifferently and focus on the root text of this lineage's tradition, which is the text known as 'Torma Empowerment Dispelling All Obstacles,' composed by the great scholar and accomplished Khungpo Naljor himself. Furthermore, we will clarify it by embellishing it with the oral instructions and practical applications of the unbroken lineage of lamas. This has three parts: preparation, main practice, and conclusion. First, the preparation: In a secluded and agreeable place, in the presence of paintings and other sacred objects of the Guru and the Protector with his retinue, on a table or similar surface, create a mandala either drawn with colored powders or painted with watercolors on silk or other materials. In the center, there is a blue triangle with two layers of lines, surrounded by fiercely blazing flames. One corner faces oneself. In the center of the blue triangle, mark it with a blue Hūṃ (藏文:ཧཱུྃ,梵文天城体:हुं,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:吽) or simply write the Hūṃ syllable, or arrange a cluster. In the center, place a torma on a stand, a three-cornered offering cake with thumb-rings around the edge, and insert an arrow with eagle feathers and a black silk pennant. If there is a tsakli of the Protector, it is customary to apply it to the torma. To the right of the Dharma source is the yidam's torma, and to the left is the local deity's torma, both round with thumb-rings around the edge. In front is the Protector's offering torma, triangular with thumb-rings around the edge. Also, prepare two water offerings and the five preliminary offerings, etc., complete without omission. In front of the practitioner, arrange the inner offering, vajra and bell, a bowl filled with flowers, etc., making sure everything is complete. Then, the guru first performs the self-generation and recitation of the yidam practice that is connected and appropriate for the occasion, such as Hevajra, Chakrasamvara, Avalokiteśvara, Hayagriva, or Secret Accomplishment, and finally, at the Dharma source in front --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
