Meditate, thinking that this is meditation, so that the mind takes its own body to the top of a castle, falls off a cliff, falls, and disappears into the air. Think: 'This is a dream.' Also think: 'This appearance is an appearance in a dream, this body is a mind-made body.' Which is meditation, dream or mind-made body? Think: 'There is no true establishment.' So the body goes through walls and mountains, etc. Also think: 'This appearance is in a dream, how does the dream grow, how does it change?' Think: changing one's own dwelling, or whatever one sees in front of one, from one to ten, from ten to a hundred, etc., and contemplate that this is a dream. Similarly, to subdue mice, one transforms oneself into a cat; to subdue birds, one transforms oneself into a hawk; to subdue dogs, one transforms oneself into a wolf; the wolf becomes a tiger; the tiger becomes a lion. To subdue people, one transforms oneself into a Rakshasa (ogre) etc. by thought, transforms and drives away, does eating and other actions, and thinks: 'This is a dream.' Similarly, to subdue dragons, one transforms oneself into a Garuda (mythical bird); to subdue kings, one transforms oneself into Hayagriva (藏文:རྟ་མགྲིན།,meaning: a wrathful deity, usually associated with Avalokiteśvara); for dragon demons and dragon spirits, one transforms oneself into Avalokiteśvara Simhanada; for Rakshasas and Yakshas (nature spirits) etc., one transforms oneself into Vajrapani (a Bodhisattva) etc. by thought, transforms and cuts their bodies into pieces with weapons and destroys them, thinking of offering their life mantras, and contemplates that all those who are subdued and those who subdue are a dream play of mind appearance. These meditations and transformations, on the same cushion, are practiced continuously, and in all situations such as walking, standing, eating, etc., one must remember and contemplate them again and again. When falling asleep, if one realizes that one is dreaming, a beginner should not immediately engage in complex meditations and transformations, but should think: 'Ah, this is a dream, all dharmas are the same as this, the appearance in the dream is not truly established, so it is one's own delusion to have happiness and suffering, attachment and aversion.' And in this state, if one does not become distracted and lost, one should clearly visualize the deity of the Yidam (personal deity) that one is practicing, and observe whether the face and hands of the deity are clear. If one can visualize oneself as a deity in a dream, then one can attain the body of a deity in the Bardo (intermediate state between death and rebirth). Gumaraja said in 'The Stages of Illusion': 'If one recognizes a dream in a dream, and the body of the deity arises for a moment, there is no doubt that one will attain the Bardo.' It is said that this is very important, so this benefit is great. If one can often realize that one is dreaming, and after it becomes slightly stable, one can also do the meditation and transformation in the dream that one practices during the day when one realizes that one is dreaming, and observe the appearance of the external environment in the same way. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Homage! After waking up from a dream, 1-13 There is no difference between the appearance in the dream and the appearance after waking up. Both are equally appearances of one's own mind. The appearance in the dream is a delusion of habituation tainted by sleep. The appearance in the waking state is a delusion of grasping subject and object, the very nature of mind tainted by beginningless habituation. The result is also the same, both are capable of producing actions of attachment, aversion, happiness, and suffering, so there is no difference. Mix all present appearances with this thought. Niguma said: 'When awakened from sleep, seize the previous dream, and meditate on the delusion of waking, there is no difference.' Clear Light. Fourth, Clear Light: Immediately after the previous practice, visualize the Lama Vajradhara (meaning: the holder of the Vajra) on a lotus and moon seat on the crown of your head, as before. Dissolve all the refuge objects into him. Think that he possesses the four kayas and five wisdoms (meaning: four bodies and five wisdoms), and is the embodiment of blessings. Then, praise and supplicate as much as you can, and pray that the precious Lama will bless you to see him with your own eyes, that he will cause the unnecessary to arise in your mind, and that he will cause you to master the Clear Light. After praying, receive the four empowerments, or simply dissolve him into yourself. 1-14 Starting from the secret place where your own bliss-supreme co-emergent (Sahaja-ananda) is clear, visualize the central channel (Sushumna) (meaning: the most important channel) up to the Brahma aperture (Brahmarandhra) (meaning: crown chakra) as red and clear, empty inside, like a blown glass tube. Four fingers below the navel, inside the central channel, think of the essence of your own mind as a white and shimmering 'Ah' (Tibetan: ཨ, Devanagari: अ, Romanized Sanskrit: a, Literal meaning: unborn), clear and transparent, with the nature of light. Recognize that the nature of 'Ah' is unborn, and rest equally in clarity and emptiness, without grasping. Then, between your brain and skull, visualize the white 'No-Self Mother' (Tibetan: བདག་མེད་མ, Devanagari: नैरात्म्य, Romanized Sanskrit: nairātmya, Literal meaning: Selfless Mother) holding a curved knife and skull cup. In the small skull cup, visualize the white 'Ah' radiating light, purifying the entire brain until it is clear and transparent. The skull is like a smoky mansion, with the nature of light, the color is white and slightly gray, focus on this. Again, in the heart of your own bliss-supreme co-emergent (Sahaja-ananda), visualize the Lama Vajradhara with vajra and bell crossed at his heart, like clear liquid mercury, the essence of bindu, with the nature of bliss. In the Lama's heart, visualize the white 'Hum' (Tibetan: ཧཱུྃ, Devanagari: हुं, Romanized Sanskrit: hūṃ, Literal meaning: seed syllable) radiating light, making the Lama's body clear and transparent. Think that the light radiating from the Lama illuminates yourself, causing you to abide in the form of the Yidam, becoming clear and transparent, focus on this. 1-15 If you can consistently practice all three aspects of Clear Light, that is best. If not, then practice the beginning and end two, or... --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
