啊！虽然有很多人宣扬自己的优越，但像这样伟大的成就者，几乎没有其他的庇护之处。因此，从上师的行迹中，我仅讲述自己所听闻的一部分，用简明的语言来表达。愿所有由此产生的善行，都如白莲般纯洁。愿我生生世世，都能以虔诚之心，如实地讲述上师所有的功德，恭敬地接受上师的足尘，并蒙受上师的欢喜摄受。我所说的这些话，即使沉溺于懒惰的海洋，也能被善行的旗帜所激励，从而展开解脱珍宝之链。这部名为《上师传记简述——奇妙事迹的云鼓》的著作，是由于我，一个远离身语意恶行，只以令上师欢喜为务的近侍，名为华丹嘉措（དཔལ་ལྡན་རྒྱ་མཚོ།，吉祥海）之人，受到恳切请求，并依仗着顶戴上师足尘的缘起，有幸得以窥见金刚持（Vajradhara）的秘密宝藏。我，一个对上师具有坚定不移的信仰的释迦比丘，名为秋丹勒贝洛珠（ཆོས་ལྡན་ལེགས་པའི་བློ་གྲོས།，具法贤慧），以简明的语言，不加任何辞藻修饰地阐述了这部著作。时轮金刚（Kalachakra）经的旨意是，从佛陀诞生到写作之时，已经过去了二千三百六十八年，即火阳鼠年或持年。在木棍捕鱼月的十五日，即天降节这个特殊的日子，于华强隆寺（དཔལ་སྤྱང་ལུང་ཆོས་སྡིངས་，吉祥华强隆法座）的大雄欢喜静处写成。 此外，对于后来想要从事此类写作的人，不应删减此书的内容，而应增加更多奇妙的事迹。这些事迹应当用清晰而优美的语言来表达，而不是因为无知，仅凭信仰就用粗俗的语言来描述。就这样。善哉！吉祥！愿一切安好！愿一切顺利！

Ah! Although many proclaim their own superiority, there are hardly any other refuges like this great accomplished one. Therefore, from the deeds of the Guru, I only relate a portion of what I have heard, expressing it in simple language. May all the virtues arising from this be as pure as a white lotus. May I, in all my lives, with faith, obtain the power to fully recount all the Guru's qualities, respectfully receive the dust of his feet, and be joyfully accepted by him. These words I speak, even if sinking in the ocean of laziness, may they be inspired by the banner of virtue, thus unfolding a chain of liberation jewels. This work, entitled 'A Brief Biography of the Glorious Guru - The Cloud Drum of Wonderful Deeds,' is due to me, a close attendant named Paldan Gyatso (དཔལ་ལྡན་རྒྱ་མཚོ།, Glorious Ocean), who keeps far away from the non-virtuous deeds of body, speech, and mind, and spends his time only in pleasing the Guru, being earnestly requested, and relying on the auspiciousness of placing the dust of the Guru's feet on my head, I have the fortune to glimpse the secret treasury of the Great Vajradhara. I, a Shakya monk with unwavering faith in the Guru, named Chokden Lekpai Lodro (ཆོས་ལྡན་ལེགས་པའི་བློ་གྲོས།, Possessing Dharma, Excellent Intellect), explain this work in simple language, without being bound by rhetoric and figures of speech. According to the intent of the Kalachakra Tantra, two thousand three hundred and sixty-eight years have passed since the birth of the Buddha until the time of writing, which is the Fire Male Rat year or the Holding Year. On the fifteenth day of the Fishing Month with a Stick, a special day of the Descent from Heaven, it was composed at the Great Hero's Delightful Solitary Place of Palchanglung Monastery (དཔལ་སྤྱང་ལུང་ཆོས་སྡིངས་, Glorious Palchanglung Dharma Seat). Furthermore, for those who later wish to engage in such writing, they should not subtract from this book, but should add more wonderful deeds. These deeds should be expressed in clear and elegant language, and not out of ignorance, merely with faith, in vulgar language. Thus it is. May it be virtuous! May there be auspiciousness!
