The request to recite the ritual of answering a thousand and eight times is the second purpose. What is the subject matter of the Dharma being requested? Fourth, what is the meaning of the subject matter? Solely relying on the Sutra tradition, there is the ritual of offering to the Seven Tathagatas, and relying on the common tradition of Sutra and Tantra, there is the explanation of the Dharani ritual that pleases the Eight Tathagatas and Bodhisattvas, and specifically, the method of accomplishing Vajrapani (金刚手) is explained based on both Sutra and Dharani. The twelve Yakshas (药叉) promised to be the protectors of the Sutra rituals, and Guhyapati (秘密主), Devendraḥ Śakraḥ (天王帝释), and the four Great Kings promised to be the protectors of both Sutra and Dharani, and then the Bhagavan (世尊) entrusted this Sutra to those protectors. The meaning of the purpose and the meaning of the words. Second, the meaning of the purpose is as mentioned above. Third, the meaning of the words: From the blessing of the ground in this text to ascending into the sky by miraculous power and abiding there, it is for the purpose of dispelling the doubts of the sons of the gods with little wisdom at the time when this Sutra was spoken in the past, inviting the Seven Tathagatas to this field, abiding together with Shakyamuni, and relying on Manjushri and Vajrapani to actually engage in questions and answers, and blessing the meaning of the Sutra and the Dharani mantra. However, the words of invitation from Shakyamuni downwards are not directly related to the Sutra. From 'the arrangement of the field of Bhagavan Amitabha' to 'the well-decorated ground' is mostly directly visible in the Sutra itself. From 'the immeasurable palace of seven precious jewels blazing supremely' to 'entering from no aspiration' is not directly visible in the Sutra itself, but it seems that the words from Asanga's Compendium of Mahayana are quoted. In the center of those Buddha-fields, there is a palace with fully complete characteristics, which is clearly explained in the Sutra concerning the Medicine Buddha. 'May everything beautiful arise', 'May it be enjoyed', and 'May it be so' are not directly related to the Sutra. In the center of the immeasurable palace, the eight Tathagatas reside on eight great lion thrones, and on the intermediate cushions is the basis for the Bodhisattvas' discussions. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

‘Arising from the Sutra’ means that which is directly related to the Sutra. For example, keeping the scriptures and preparing seats for Manjushri (梵文:मञ्जुश्री,Mañjuśrī) and other deities are not directly related to the Sutra. Similarly, making offerings to the Seven Tathagatas (梵文:सप्त तथागत,sapta tathāgata) and making aspirations in accordance with their previous aspirations are directly related to the Sutra. However, making offerings to Shakyamuni (梵文:शाक्यमुनि,Śākyamuni) and those below him are not directly related to the Sutra. Other words in the ritual can be found in the direct teachings of the Sutra. The subsequent words of the ritual were personally compiled by Khenpo Bodhisattva (梵文:Bodhisattva). Here, explanations are given because I am skilled in doctrine; please practice each part of the ritual according to the scriptures. I have not written down many notes, but have drawn on the explanations of others and perfected them myself. Those who are conceited often like to do this. Only through analyzing with one's own wisdom can the content be pure. Like the scriptures themselves, who is the wise one who is good at explaining with beautiful splendor? Whoever is proficient in the profound and vast teachings of Shakyamuni Buddha and the extremely broad thoughts of the Bhagavan (梵文:Bhagavan), and clearly explains them, has gained the confidence of a wise person and is equal to all. May this virtue cause the crown of Sakya's (梵文:Sakya) ruler, Namkha Yeshe (藏文:ནམ་མཁའ་ཡེ་ཤེས།), Dorje Namka Drakpa (藏文:རྡོ་རྗེ་རྣམ་དཀར་གྲགས་པ།), the one with good fortune, to become higher and higher! May the king, princes, and ministers be respected by the masses, without external disturbances, and may the territory be as vast as the ocean! May he gain complete victory from the hostile forces of samsara and peace, and from the ocean of wealth of Namgyal Drakpa (藏文:རྣམ་རྒྱལ་གྲགས་པ།), may he find rest and accomplish this with excellent wisdom. This work was written by the listener from U-Tsang, the auspicious Shakya Chokden (藏文:ཤཱཀྱ་མཆོག་ལྡན།), the immaculate Lekpai Lo (藏文:ལེགས་པའི་བློས།). It was completed on the full moon day of Saga Dawa (藏文:ས་གས་) in the Wood Sheep year (Tibetan calendar), in the upper palace of Dze Tongmon (藏文:མཛད་མཐོང་སྨོན།) Monastery, the permanent residence of Dharma King Chokyi Gyaltsen (藏文:ཆོས་ཀྱི་རྒྱལ་མཚན།). It was copied by Konton Gonpo Gyaltsen (藏文:རྐོང་སྟོན་མགོན་པོ་རྒྱལ་མཚན།) the auspicious. Auspicious! The mixture of the common basis, the mixture of un-enlightened samsara, the mixture of the path to enlightenment, and the mixture of the fruit of enlightenment.
