If someone says, 'It is established by valid cognition,' and then proclaims emptiness, isn't that falling into the extreme of annihilation? If someone says, 'The four million billion world systems arise from the stable imprints of the measurer (sentient beings), so it is difficult to find valid cognition,' then how would you explain the Abhidharma and other treatises? If someone says, 'Because the scriptures say it exists,' then how would you explain other schools of thought? If it doesn't contradict through intention, then why do you prohibit the great realm of Brahma? Although they say this, we do not accept that whatever appears clearly exists. The other side (the proponents of existence) accept that it exists; this is the doctrine of the Tirthikas (non-Buddhists). 'To put three thousand great thousand world systems into a mustard seed, etc., is the realm of those with magical powers, but it does not exist in the face of conventional truth.' Saying this is also an expression of being overly attached to external objects, just like the illusions of a magician are also the realm of those with magical powers. If you say that, consider what fault there is. The illusory appearances of external objects, as well as mirages, cities of gandharvas, etc., are said to be similar in all the teachings of the Great Vehicle. If someone says, 'For similar beings, one object cannot appear as many,' then when accepting the existence of external objects, one should also refute and examine this. For the three types of human beings—friends, enemies, and neutrals—the same object can evoke three different feelings, such as pleasant, unpleasant, etc. For the same pot, the clarity of perception varies depending on whether it is viewed from near or far. How do you explain this? Yogis see immeasurable palaces in buildings made of stone, wood, etc. The impure world appears pure to the fully enlightened Buddhas. If someone says, 'The impure appears as impure, then the blessed dwelling and utensils still appear impure to the yogi, then the blessing becomes meaningless.' In short, to say that one object cannot appear as many to similar beings is a statement that deviates from the Dharmadhatu (the realm of reality), is a manifestation of not understanding that there is no other dharma besides the Dharmadhatu, and is a departure from the Mahayana teachings. Why? Because the Dharmadhatu is the only one, and it appears as Buddhas, sentient beings, existence and non-existence, speakers and listeners, lower realms and higher realms, the five aggregates, the twelve sense bases, and the eighteen elements. Apart from that, there is no other appearance. The Dharmadhatu is the individual's mindstream, and apart from that, it is not accepted as pervading everything like space. Next, the explanation of the meaning derived from this. Here, in the context of explaining the classification of the three—the measurable object, the measuring subject, and the place—the views of the Greater and Lesser Vehicles and their contradictions will be discussed here. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Think! If a lower argument could refute a higher doctrine, wouldn't the entire order of sects and the Three Vehicles (Śrāvakayāna, Mahāyāna, Vajrayāna) be fundamentally disrupted? If someone says that it is inappropriate to discuss here the origin of the four schools that arose by taking the arguments of the Sutra Pitaka and the doctrines of the Vinaya Pitaka as the standard, and the origin of the four Vedas, because this is not universally known, and that the order of the councils should not be discussed, etc. Then, when presenting any argument, citing arguments that have not been verified by the three examinations is only an obstacle. Dharmakīrti said that this is not a valid argument. In particular, a lower argument cannot even be an obstacle to the meaning of a higher argument, because the higher argument can refute the lower argument. Because the distinction between the definitive meaning ( nītārtha ) and the interpretable meaning ( neyārtha ) of the Kālacakra is not distinguished, it is impossible to refute the two sets of four dharmas spoken from the mouth of the deity itself. The definitive meaning of the Kālacakra has no beginning, and there is no dharma that was not spoken from the mouth of the interpretable meaning of the Rūpakāya Kālacakra. Nowadays, all classifications of mantras are attributed to lower schools, and now only the parts of that school that have declined are discussed. They consider Mount Sumeru, etc., which are accumulated from atoms, to be valid cognitions ( प्रमाण , pramāṇa, valid cognition) seen by eye consciousness. This is actually the argument of the Vaiśeṣika school and the Tirthikas (non-Buddhists), and there is nothing higher than that. Mantrikas do not acknowledge the ātma ( आत्म , ātma, true self) of ultimate truth, but instead delude themselves into thinking that the self of conventional truth is a higher god. This ignorance of regarding the self as a deity is a Tirthika argument. They believe that one entity is the cause of all appearances of the six realms of beings. This view is the argument of the Sautrāntika school and does not exist in Mahāyāna Buddhism. Dharmakīrti said that directly knowing external objects through root consciousness and consciousness perception is even lower than the view of the Sautrāntika school. In mantra, since it is not considered reasonable to have a valid cognition other than wisdom, there is no higher view than that of the Cittamatra school. Since they acknowledge that the five objects of form, sound, etc., are the direct perceptions of consciousness, they also do not know how to explain the views of the Cittamatra school. If someone says that the things that appear as form, etc., are the things that actually exist as form, etc., isn't this wandering in the arguments of the Vibhajyavāda school? Because they see the danger that the Anuttarayoga Tantra will fall into the wrong path of the Cittamatra school, they strive to prevent the arising of the Ālayavijñāna and self-born wisdom. Therefore, the ultimate meaning of mantra, which is co-emergent wisdom ( सहजोदयज्ञान , sahajodayajñāna, co-emergent wisdom) and the union of bliss and emptiness ( सुखशून्यतायुगनद्ध , sukhaśūnyatāyuganaddha, union of bliss and emptiness), is fundamentally destroyed. They do not acknowledge external objects that are not accumulated from atoms. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
