It is inappropriate to say that, because the Chinese consider the horse month or mouth month to be the first month of spring, because the astrologer says that the first month of spring is the month of the horse.' This is what the venerable Lodrö Tenpa said. On the fifteenth day of Saga (the fourth month of the Tibetan calendar) is the time when the Buddha attained enlightenment, which is said in the Vinaya-mūla-sūtra. The Sakya school believes that this is the time of the Buddha's Parinirvana, which is also said in the Nirvana Sutra. On the fourth day of the waxing moon of Chutö (the fifth month of the Tibetan calendar) is the time when the Buddha first turned the wheel of Dharma, which is said in the Extensive Play Sutra. On the fifteenth day of Tagar (the eleventh month of the Tibetan calendar), the time when the Buddha descended to Jambudvipa after performing the karma in the thirty-three heavens, which is said in the Vinaya-kṣudraka. If the eighth time is counted, then on top of the first four times, on the eighth day of Mindru (the twelfth month of the Tibetan calendar) is the time when the teacher passed away, which is considered by Jowo-je and the Kashmiri Paṇchen. Between the eighth and fifteenth days of Gya (the first month of the Tibetan calendar) is the time when the Buddha meditated under the Bodhi tree and attained great Bodhi. Between the first and eighth days of Wo (the second month of the Tibetan calendar) is the time when the holy White Foe entered the womb of his mother. On the fifteenth day of Nagpa (the third month of the Tibetan calendar), at the stupa of the auspicious Drepung Monastery, is the time when the Buddha turned the wheel of the Kalachakra Dharma. (Author's self-description) I know a little about the Vinaya Pitaka, I know a little about the Abhidharma treatises, I know a little about the Kalachakra, so I am self-righteous and superior. I string together the pearls of eloquent speech with the golden thread of wisdom, and today I will put them on your neck, so that you can be among the wise from now on! My wonderful words, decorated with the charm of Abhidharma, show everything with a dignified smile. Decorated with a long necklace of Kalachakra, it has the youthful vitality of understanding the ways of the world. The theory that illuminates the three realms like a mirror is a delightful new work that inspires wisdom. This can convince everyone and undoubtedly make one an eloquent authority! Always disturbed by tiny demons, dazzled by seeing and hearing a lot, what use is this wonderful Dharma to those who are unlucky, cunning, and self-righteous? May those lucky ones who appreciate this, nod in agreement, and bend their noble necks to proclaim these wonderful verses in all directions, become sons of Saraswati! Even for trivial worldly matters, they work hard, but they have the right to sit in the gathering of the wise. May this virtue enable me to be lifted up by the wise in all my lives! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
