If you think that dependent arising is the real meaning, then it is not right to say that emptiness is established by the proof of dependent arising, because this would become establishing what has already been established. Emptiness and dependent arising, their realization is mutually dependent. If you think that dependent arising is the meaning of emptiness, then it becomes the meaning of conventional truth and ultimate truth. The phenomena that arise from causes and conditions are all conceptually fabricated. When observing in this way, nothing is seen. When observing in this way, it is merely labeled as seeing dependent arising and seeing emptiness. This is unreasonable for you, because the meaning of seeing dependent arising is to explain seeing the collection of no self-nature and phenomena. In short, dependent arising is emptiness, and the meaning of emptiness is explained through pacifying all elaborations and being labeled from dependence. Even if the meanings are the same, it is unreasonable to think that realizing one can realize the other, because they will not become each other's meaning, just like 'done' and 'impermanent'. If you Madhyamikas admit that both emptiness and action are reasonable, then you will fall into a dangerous abyss, because if action is not empty of action, then emptiness will not be reasonable. If action is empty of non-action, then even if you hate the name 'other-emptiness', you will actually quickly admit its meaning. Therefore, in your teachings, seeing dependent arising is praised, which also means that it is completely non-existent and not inherently existent. If it exists, then it is inherently existent, because existing from the perspective of others, or merely existing conventionally, cannot be considered true existence. These various dependent arising appearances are also not completely existent, because if they existed, then they should be able to appear in the wisdom of the fully enlightened Buddha, but in reality, they are not seen. Like the sky flower that does not depend on anything, therefore, it is not existent by dependence. If things are established by their own nature, then its establishment contradicts dependence on causes and conditions. If you say that dependence and reliance exist as knowable objects, that is also unreasonable, because the scriptures say that mutually dependent things do not exist as knowers. Phenomena and lotus flowers in the sky, although they are the same in that they do not exist, the difference is only that they appear and do not appear in confused consciousness. This is the view of glorious Chandrakirti (Sanskrit: Ārya-deva), and all the ways of establishing conventional truth are compared to the example of hair and a comb. It is unreasonable to distinguish between existence and inherent existence, and between non-existence and inherent non-existence, because if it exists, then the omniscient one should be able to see it. What the omniscient one sees is the ultimate truth, because it is separated from mind and mental factors, so there is no conventional appearance. Therefore, apart from dependent arising, there are no other phenomena. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Therefore, it is not truly existent. They say, 'Apart from emptiness of inherent existence, there are no phenomena at all.' This is not valid for you, because phenomena themselves are empty, which is the essence of the scriptures. Because you proclaim the opposite. Because inherent existence is irreversible, if phenomena had some inherent existence, then nirvana would be impossible, and all elaborations would be irreversible. They say: This fault lies with you, because you assert that all phenomena exist, and completely declare that things like a barren woman's son do not exist. Therefore, 'free from inherent existence,' like a lion's roar, has been well-spoken many times in gatherings of the wise. Who would oppose that? They say, 'You misunderstand this, because you assert that things like a pot are not separate from what is to be refuted, and are not empty of their own entity.' There is no inherent existence, and all the establishments of 'this arises from this,' these two are not contradictory, so what need is there to mention their compatibility? Because of the reason of dependent arising, 'not relying on extreme views,' this well-spoken statement is your supreme speech. They say: 'Inherent existence does not exist, this is according to the wise and the ignorant of the conventional,' Chandrakirti said, so how can the two be accommodated on one basis? 'To accumulate merit, emptiness should not be spoken,' and with reasoning, he also negates actions and results, and the Bodhisattva also negates, and 'if these things are analyzed, they do not exist, but in the way of behavior, they are not found, therefore the terms should not be analyzed,' because he said so. The actions and results of the basis of difference, and the qualities of difference that are not truly established, these two coexist without contradiction in one thing, this is the union of the two truths.' If you admit that actions and results exist, then you will not think of it as an illusion, because appearing as non-existent also exists, which is explained as the meaning of illusion. 'Then, from the nature of aimlessness, how do you accumulate the accumulation of merit?' Because while appearing as non-existent, it is also proclaimed that there is no affirmation or negation, so this is the union of the two truths, because mere appearance is conventional. After admitting that dependent arising exists, 'not relying on extreme views,' this statement is self-contradictory, because it relies on the extreme of elaboration. All of this is empty of inherent existence, and the two certainties of 'this result arises from this,' help each other without obstruction. What is more wonderful than this? What is more amazing than this? If you praise in this way, then praise! They say: Admitting that actions and results exist, this is also not valid for you. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
