Written by Gyalsé Jamyang Chökyi Nyima. Herein is contained "How the Great Treasure Trove was Printed: The Wish-Fulfilling New Vine." Namo Guru Deva Dakiniye. Homage to the Guru, Deva, and Dakini) The compassion of all the Buddhas blazes forth in the sky, the sole protector of beings is the sun. The immeasurable rays of the Three Roots and Ocean of Jewels shine equally with the sky. May the supreme teacher arrive here to expand the lotus garden of the Buddha's teachings. Even upon attaining enlightenment, I offer the dust of the feet of the glorious Lama upon my head. From the stirring of virtuous deeds and mandārava flowers, A single medicine of a thousand cool rays of the Dharma treasury that benefits all, quelling the heat of samsara. Look to the glory of the beings of the three realms that rises. Here, the great path of all the Buddhas of the three times, past, present, and future, who have passed away and will pass away. The profound and definitive meaning of the Three Roots, the Ocean of Buddhas, The single intent of the ultimate, the heart's blood of all the heroes and heroines. The heart essence of the ocean of vidyadharas and siddhas. The life force of all the Dharma protectors and oath-bound ones. The pinnacle of the clear light vajra vehicle that ripens fortunate beings into rainbow body vajra bodies in one lifetime, among the three sections of the secret mantra inner tantras. In the early translation tradition, the vast Dharma teachings of our own system are the Kama, the profound are the Terma, and the essential are the pure visions. Here, in brief, are the three ways in which the latter two were printed: the manner of collecting, the greatness of the collector, and the manner of printing after collecting. Firstly, it is known from the lineage record and catalog made by the venerable Lama himself. Secondly, the greatness of the collector is that this is someone who has received the permission of the assembly of the Three Roots and oath-bound ones, and who dwells in a high inner position. Unless one has fulfilled the aspiration to protect the great Dharma treasury of the Tathagatas and other Buddhas from countless kalpas, it is difficult even to imagine, let alone collect. What need is there to say about the Great

It is neither the realm of Śrāvakas and Pratyekabuddhas, nor the realm of those who have entered the path of reason and logic. Such an unsurpassed vehicle is established by scriptural and logical proofs, and it is not the realm of ordinary beings. Even if one only has the thought of "I should strive for this," it is still rare and precious. However, this is like the essence of the blood of heroes and Ḍākinīs residing in the Dharmadhātu, so it is constantly protected by the ocean of wisdom and worldly Dharma protectors. It is difficult to take it into one's hands. Even if one takes it, it will be quickly destroyed by fierce obstacles. In the past, many wise and accomplished ones with the eyes of Dharma and wisdom were taken over by obstacles because they explained the tantras and instructions of the Vajrayāna without permission. What need is there to mention others? Therefore, in the past, the great glorious Heruka and the King of Dharma of Oddiyana were no different, but in terms of appearance, as it is said, "The speaker is me, the Dharma is also me, and the listener with my own retinue is me." Thus, appearing as the form of the main deity and retinue, when opening the ocean of Dharma doors of the profound and secret Vajrayāna, they entrusted responsibilities and made aspirations at their respective times. This is the time when even in the degenerate age, it is the most degenerate, and other Dharmas cannot disturb it. The one who manifests such a timely activity is the Venerable Padma Odsel Do-ngak Lingpa and the Venerable Chimey Tennyi Yungdrung Lingpa. Moreover, in terms of the appearance of conceptual mind, the profound treasure Dharma doors that are known and accomplished only in the snowy land of Tibet, those that are certainly abiding now, are all carefully examined with constant respect and diligent study and contemplation. They are combined with practice, and they show the appearance of attaining a high level of accomplishment. However, in terms of ultimate truth, they are constantly accompanied by the appearance of the ocean of the three roots, and they have obtained special permission for compilation. The ocean of the three roots, such as the King of Dharma of Oddiyana, also prophesied that the time for activity has come. Therefore, the two venerable lamas, in the manner of consultation, gathered many profound and secret precious Dharma teachings into one Dharma treasury. Thus, at the time of the Śrāvakayāna, the compiler was Mahākāśyapa.
