Pages 479 to 578. Pages 479 to 578. Since the five poisons are rampant, please impart a teaching on how to attain Buddhahood without having to abandon the five poisons. Having requested thus, the teacher gave the instruction: Listen, Chokroza! These five poisonous emotions are inherently present within oneself, so they cannot be abandoned by abandoning them, they cannot be transformed by transforming them, and they cannot be mastered by practicing them. Because the five poisons are the nature of reality, the five poisons must be purified in their own place and liberated in their own ground. Furthermore, the essence of anger is emptiness. From the moment anger arises in hell, there is no place for anger to arise thereafter, because there is no such thing as arising from this. The object of anger's arising is emptiness, because there is no such thing as arising in this. The very nature of anger is emptiness, because it is devoid of shape and color, and it is not established as a thing or substance. Therefore, anger does not need to be abandoned, it is purified in its own place. Anger does not bring harm, and not arising does not bring benefit. Anger is liberated in its own place, in the expanse of reality. Similarly, desire, ignorance, pride, and jealousy are also the same. First, the place is empty, there is no place of origin. In the middle, the object is empty, not established as a basis or thing. Finally, the essence is empty, not established as color and shape. The five poisonous emotions have no trace. The five poisons are purified in their own place. Wisdom continuously arises. Discursive thoughts are liberated into reality. The burden of grasping and being grasped is cut. Having understood and practiced in this way, whatever of the five poisons arises, it appears as reality. The five poisons cannot be abandoned. Wisdom cannot be cultivated. This is the instruction for the five poisons to be liberated in their own place. If you practice this meaning in this way, the teacher said that there is no place to go for those who do not want to become Buddhas. In general, you who are like a woman's son, the five poisonous emotions burn like fire in your own being, negative imprints surge like a flood and you are addicted to desire, the two, grasping and being grasped, stir up your husband's desire like a storm, the two, sin and obscuration, accumulate like earth after being deceitfully concealed, your mind is not on Dharma, and self-grasping carries away the field of your mind with distraction. There is a danger that the five poisons will run wild like madmen, so integrate practice into your being! This is what Droza Ma Tingma asked of the master Padmasambhava. Great master! I, who am like a woman's son, am busy with many activities and greatly distracted, please impart a teaching on how to attain Buddhahood without abandoning activities! Having requested thus, the teacher gave the instruction: Listen, oh!

Brosa Tingpangma! Whatever arises from the nature of reality, everything is Buddha. Regarding the merits of the five desires, whatever you enjoy, do not be attached to it, like a container for food. Non-attachment is the activity of the Buddha. Self-born wisdom arises from oneself, whatever you remember is wisdom. Whatever thoughts arise in your mind, therefore do not follow them, but let them arise and subside on their own, like a bubble in water. Being pure in oneself is the thought of the Buddha. Samsara is impermanent, so nothing exists. Although birth, old age, sickness, and death, arising and ceasing, constantly cycle, all those arise from your own mind, so nothing exists, like an illusion. Know that appearance without inherent existence is like an illusory appearance. Because self-grasping is a mistake, do not grasp at me, thinking that I am real. All places, houses, children, husbands, and wealth, are like a dream world, untrue and false, so treat them like a dream. All worldly activities are by nature suffering. Like the saliva of a demon, arising from oneself and binding oneself. Whatever you do, do it with a non-attached attitude, and let your actions be in accordance with the Dharma. If you do so, whatever you do will become a Dharma for attaining Buddhahood. In general, you are like a son among women, because of your low birth, your heart is weak. Because the body has enemies, you do not practice Dharma but manage the household. Because of bad karma, there are many things to do, so you forget the Dharma. Because women have few opportunities to receive the Dharma, you should strive to be diligent. Margongsa respectfully requested the teacher: I am like a son among women, with bad karma, so I pray that I do not need to take the form of a woman in the next life. After making this request, the teacher said: Margongsa, listen! Self-awareness, the mind of enlightenment, is unconditioned in the three times, so there is no male, female, hermaphrodite, good, or bad. The self-arising, self-illuminating, self-manifesting nature of reality, without birth, is free from death, change, and fear. Do not fear change. Thoughts are wisdom, so there is no need for meditation or effort. Self-born, self-liberated, like a cloud in the sky. The Dharmakaya exists within oneself, and because it is unconditioned, samsara is pure from the beginning. There is nothing to grasp onto in the body. The play of the nature of reality is the nature of wisdom, so if you understand this, even if you are a woman, there is no bad body. If you do not truly understand the meaning of the nature of reality, you will become the master of birth.
