Then, gather the two shoulders together. Lift the neck slightly upwards and gaze sharply ahead, then meditate. The fourth, the posture of the fox, is: place the two feet with the ankles aligned and the soles on the ground. Place the two hands in fists with the thumbs clasped, on either side of the feet. Pull and stretch the arms. Straighten the spine. Slightly close the two eyes and lead them to the corners on the left and right, and experience this state. The fifth, the vulture, is: the legs should be stretched out slightly forward in the vajra posture. Place the two hands in fists behind, at the base of the hips. Straighten the spine. Pull the back of the neck and look with the two eyes very slightly closed, leading them to the two corners in a rocking motion. The sixth, the posture of the giant, is: the body straight. The two legs crossed. Place the two elbows on the thighs and support the cheeks with the two palms. Close the two eyes slightly and, by turning up and down, direct them to the left sky and meditate. The seventh, the crocodile, is: the legs crossed. Cover the two hands on the knees. Straighten the body. With the neck slightly raised, lead the corners of the eyes slightly closed to the right and meditate. With this, the instructions for the profound path of Tögal, including the postures of the limbs, are complete. Then, there are three instructions for the subsequent support: establish the foundation with the three immovables, measure the standard with the three abidings, and nail down the pegs with the three attainments. Among these, the immovables are most important during practice. If the body is immobile, the eyes are immobile; if the eyes are immobile, the channels are immobile; if the channels are immobile, the awareness is immobile. Therefore, there is a need for slow breath. Having practiced in this way, the three abidings will arise: the appearance of the outer six aggregates of objects will cease, and the appearance will arise as a helping condition; the inner body will abide free from movement and activity, and will be free from the activity of delusion; the secret awareness will abide, and it will not be possible for conceptual thoughts to arise. Then, as the power of habituation increases, the extent to which the imprints of delusion are distanced and exhausted is: for the best, the delusion of dreams ceases; for the intermediate, one knows that one is deluded in dreams; for the least, even dreams become good. The result of practicing in this way is: for the best, the contaminated aggregates are liberated into clear light; for the intermediate, one attains Buddhahood in the bardo of dharmata after abandoning the body; for the least, one will not enter the womb.

That is, being born in the five pure lands of the incarnate body, one becomes a Buddha without going through the bardo. Now, the three attainments that nail the peg are: externally, gaining mastery over appearances, one is liberated in the pure land of appearances; internally, gaining mastery over the body, one attains the body of great transference, without birth, death, or passing away, and the body of the five elements is liberated into luminosity; secretly, gaining mastery over the mind, the stream of habitual confusion is cut off. Thus, the manner in which the stages of practice signs arise for a person who has attained the four appearances should be known in detail from the scriptures. Thus, the instructions of the "Vast Expanse Heart Drop" are completely fulfilled. Furthermore, the scriptural authority of the tantras, the framework of the commentaries, and the measure of increase, signs, and attainments of the four appearances should be known in detail from the scriptures. Here, only the key points of the oral instructions are mainly shown, so the meaning is condensed. This is called "The Wish-Fulfilling Jewel, the Instruction Manual of the Great Perfection Vast Expanse Heart Drop." At the urging of the Dharma Lord Samdrub Gyalpo of Men Tsei (Sman rtse) in Phenyul (’Phan yul), who said that there were some hidden confusions in the treasure instructions and that a detailed oral instruction that summarized them should be written, the yogi of the Great Perfection Vast Expanse Heart Drop, the holder of the words of Orgyen Padmasambhava, the treasure revealer Rinchen Palzangpo, composed it on the full moon of the Dragon Month of the Bird Year in the auspicious Men Tsei mountain retreat. May all beings, through this virtue, go to the primordial ground in one lifetime! "The Wish-Fulfilling Jewel, the Instruction Manual of the Vast Expanse Heart Drop," Rinchen Palzangpo.
