Dzogchen Nyingpo Hung-khor: Chod Practice of Taking Appearances as the Path. Dzogchen Nyingpo Hung-khor: Chod Practice of Taking Appearances as the Path. Dzogchen Nyingpo Hung-khor: The Chod Practice of Taking Appearances as the Path. Emaho! Ema, Orgyen Padma, I, for the fortunate individuals who practice, explain the Chod Practice of Taking Appearances as the Path, may future generations practice in this way. This has three general meanings: preliminaries, main practice, and conclusion. First, the preliminaries: Reside in a charnel ground, or associate with lepers, male or female, or contract a disease, or in a cave, or a temple, or an empty house, or go to any terrifying place, take refuge, generate bodhichitta, and supplicate the lineage lamas, "Bless me to know appearances as unreal! Bless me to realize the single certainty of unbornness! Bless me to realize self-arising as self-liberation! Bless me to forcefully cut the clinging of hope and fear! Bless me to be free from mental expectations of acceptance and rejection!" Thus, supplicate. The main practice: If cutting for a demon, under the heart of the one lying down at will, under the middle of the spine, where the earth lord or demon is, with your head pressing the top of the valley, your feet pressing the bottom, pressing down with your limbs all the minor demons and so forth, lie face up closely and relax, thinking, "Now, from here until the end of the kalpa, I will not rise," thus cutting off thoughts and remaining, for the best, it appears directly; for the intermediate, miracles appear; for the least, splendor and dreams appear, and fear, terror, goosebumps, and various images arise. At the time of their arising, the best are liberated by knowing awareness as without support; the intermediate are liberated by thinking it is a mental miracle; the least, attachment and clinging arise from the body, the mind is empty, and in the naked awareness of emptiness, there is no clinging or fear. Oh! Everything is one's own mind, one's own radiance. If there were a real thing, I would be happy! Though I search to the ends of space, I cannot find its essence, shape, color, symbol, or name. Now, if you want flesh, take flesh! May karmic debts be purified! If you want blood, take blood! If you want bones, take bones! If you want skin, take skin! If you want entrails, take entra

Give alms! Repay karmic debts! This body of mine, I don't know when it will be the cause of samsara, but now I am happy that there is someone who truly accepts it! There is also attachment and craving, and I express my expectations, accepting it in my heart and in my consciousness. Then, I relax and lie down without any attachment. As a sign of this decision, awareness becomes comfortable and soft, clear and bright, and actual phenomena such as giving food and clothing appear in dreams. Ghosts, demons, and local deities will drive and enslave, and in particular, unprecedented special experiences will arise. Furthermore, there is no need to go to a dangerous place. By focusing on the bed where you are, since the corpse is on the bed, you should know that the bed is a dangerous place. The gentle entry of demons is: giving good gifts, giving food, doing altruistic activities, taming objects, giving help, accumulating merit, gaining fame, and the appearance of retinue and servants, etc. If you do not understand these and develop hope and pride, thinking that it will come now, and develop attachment, you will be controlled by demons. In this situation, you must generate renunciation from the depths of your heart, abandon attachment from the depths of your heart, and completely let go of your thoughts. Practice the essence of asceticism, cut off the root of pride from within, and observe whether there is attachment in your heart. If there is, relax further and be liberated in the unborn realm, disappearing and going away. Even if you do not understand this, look inward at yourself, because the root of demons is the mind, and the mind cannot be found even if you search for it. Manifestation and emptiness, gods and ghosts, enemies and friends, clean and dirty, happiness and suffering, and afflictions should all be well relaxed and destroyed, and they will naturally be liberated in their own place without being established in their essence. If you are not liberated, relax in a state of freedom from bondage. Awareness is free from bondage, without the shackles of clinging to truth, without special practice, and the senses become free and at ease. No matter what you do, you will feel a carefree comfort, and that is the time of decision. The entry of rough demons into the Dharma is also diseases, ghosts, humans, and non-humans, etc. As a means of suppression, let the patient rely on ghosts again, bring down evil on the dangerous place, and perform moxibustion and other treatments, but instead of being harmed again, they become friends. Afterwards: Always gather your short thoughts.
