From the Guru's Mind Practice, Dispeller of All Obstacles: The Recitation and Meditation of Manjushri, Subduer of Enemies, The Iron Wheel. Khyentse Wangpo. From the Guru's Mind Practice, Dispeller of All Obstacles: The Recitation and Meditation of Manjushri, Subduer of Enemies, The Iron Wheel. Khyentse Wangpo. From the Guru's Mind Practice, Dispeller of All Obstacles, entitled "The Recitation and Meditation of Manjushri, Subduer of Enemies, The Iron Wheel," is presented herein. Om Swasti! Manjushri, the embodiment of all Buddhas, To Heruka, the subduer of enemies, Having prostrated, I shall explain the oral instructions for his recitation and meditation, the Iron Wheel. This has three parts: preliminaries, main practice, and conclusion. The first has five parts: purpose, refuge, bodhicitta, accumulation of merit, and the meditation on the immeasurable. Of these five, the first is: From the root text: "Due to the evil deeds of beings in the degenerate age, Curses arise and people quarrel, Because of the increase of demonic spirits and jealousy, Sudden obstacles cut off life, When harmed by various kinds of hindrances, The guru is Manjushri, the lion of speech, Meditate on this wrathful yoga." Thus, for oneself and others, temporarily pacifying the causes of curses and evil speech, relying on the conditions for higher realms and definite goodness, cutting off the causes of ultimate samsara and lower realms, protecting and averting all unfavorable circumstances, one should train in this profound yoga. Having connected it in this way, The second is: Before the refuge field, the assembly of deities of the three roots, awakened and filling the sky, with devotion that unites the three doors: Namo! Guru, lord who pervades all lineages, Yidam deity, source of accomplishment, Assembly of dakinis, dispellers of all obstacles, I take refuge in the three roots. Thus, take refuge as much as possible. The third is: Clearly establish the bodhicitta of aspiration and action. Hūṃ! For the sake of completely cutting off Curses and evil speech, which are extremely wicked and violent, I will meditate on the profound yoga Of Heruka, the subduer of enemies. Three times. The fourth is: Thinking, "I will accumulate merit through the eight branches," Vajra master, Buddha glorious, I prostrate to you who abide in the three times. You who are the field for relying on the Three Jewels, With non-dual mind, I take refuge. Actual offerings and those emanated by the mind, Pure offerings

Please accept. (Please) pacify the obstacles that cut off the river of accomplishment, and confess all misdeeds. For the pure Dharma of the ten directions and three wheels, I rejoice in the practice of non-attachment. The four pure boundaries are without defilement, and I generate the perfect Bodhicitta. To the Sugata Bodhisattva, I offer the pure three bodies. Accumulate all the deeds accumulated in lifetimes, and dedicate them to the great Bodhi. Recite three times. The fifth is: May all sentient beings have happiness, may they be free from all suffering, may they never be separated from happiness, and may they realize the equality of all dharmas. Thus, tame the mind with the four immeasurables. Second, the main practice, clarify the vows, bless the three places. Empower, invite and integrate wisdom. Prostrate, offer, praise, and recite. The first of these eight is: AH! (Tibetan, Devanagari, Roman transliteration, literal meaning) All dharmas are without object, in emptiness, the appearance of instantaneous manifestation, a vajra tent made of exquisite materials, in the wide center, in the center of the iron wheel spokes, on the arrogant buffalo lotus sun disc, oneself is the vidyadhara speaking lion, appearing in the wrathful body of Yamantaka, the glory of subduing the enemies of others, the dark blue three-faced six-armed one, holding a vajra wheel sword in the right, holding an iron hook, a wooden stake, and an enemy seal in the left, adorned with charnel ground ornaments, the consort is the fierce mother poison bottle woman, the radiance of red and black blood sea, wielding a club, a skull bowl, and blood, playing with nine kinds of dance, standing proudly in the wisdom fire, inside the outer wheel, surrounded by the lord of life and death and, countless servants of Yama, wrathful deities surge like stars, raining down weapons, uttering the sound of HUM (Tibetan, Devanagari, Roman transliteration, literal meaning), resounding like the roar of a giant dragon. OM YAMANTAKA HUM HUM PHAT (Tibetan, Devanagari, Roman transliteration, literal meaning) Thus, the manifestation of the innate luminosity of the union of awareness and emptiness arises instantaneously, becoming a deity with support and supported. The second is: In one's own three places, visualize the nature of the three vajras, the white OM (Tibetan, Devanagari, Roman transliteration, literal meaning) at the crown of the head, the red AH (Tibetan, Devanagari, Roman transliteration, literal meaning) at the throat, and the blue HUM (Tibetan, Devanagari, Roman transliteration, literal meaning) at the heart. Body, speech, and mind are the three vajras, primordially self-perfected, sealed with mudras. OM AH HUM (Tibetan, Devanagari, Roman transliteration, literal meaning). Recite thus. The third is: From the light emanating from the seed syllable in the heart, invite the empowerment deities filling the sky, and with this empowerment
