Incense and the five desirable qualities, treasures of jewels, grains, and silk brocades, gardens, mansions, ponds, and lakes, fish, frogs, snakes, tadpoles, wealth, and treasures of all kinds, various dragon medicines that cure diseases, and offerings of the three whites and three sweets are offered. In general, for the entire Jambudvipa, and especially in this area, may the rain continue to fall and pacify hunger and poverty. Sarva Naga Raja Naga Nagi Sa Parivara Argham Ne, Shabda Pratichchha Svaha. Sarva Puja Ah Hum. The praise is: Before the Sage (Buddha), you have the oath to protect the teachings and increase the benefit and happiness of beings. I prostrate to the nine great Nagas, who cherish the oath-holders like their own children, together with their consorts and retinues. The recitation is: Phu Naga Raja Sarva Naga Nagi Ni Svaha. Recite as much as possible. The mantra for gathering clouds and causing rain is: Sarva Maha Megha Thib Thib, Bharishaya Phob Phob, Shar Shar, Zil Zil, Trom Trom, Clouds gather thickly, rain falls heavily, Phu Naga Raja Naga Nagi Ni Sa Parija Naga Kala Bharishaya Phob Ya. Recite this vigorously. The Torma is: Om Svabhava Shuddha Sarva Dharma Svabhava Shuddho Ham. From Om, in a precious vessel, Kham melts into Torma nectar. This Torma, endowed with the five desirable qualities, may the Naga King and his retinue enjoy with delight. Om Sarva Naga Raja Naga Nagi Sa Parivara Idam Bhalimta Kha Kha Khahi Khahi. Seven times. Naga King and retinue, please accept this Torma, and in the sky of Jambudvipa, gather clouds and cause the rain to continue, pacify famine and increase crops. Thus, in a copper vessel, offer water mixed with dragon medicine, and recite Om Vasuki Mam Svaha one hundred times, pouring it into places with abundant water flow. If the wind scatters the clouds, the mantra to suppress the wind is: Om Yam Yam Vayu Deva Charaya Churaya Stambhaya Nan. Charaya Nan. Churaya Nan. Vayu Nan Svaha. Om Vayu Deva Yam Yam. Bhandha Bhandha. Wind Maraya Maraya. Until the rain falls, bind all obstacles, Bhandha Bhandha Nan. Recite this latter mantra one hundred times on black and white stones, and after the mantra, throw them in the direction from which the wind is blowing. The concluding ritual is: Om Simha Nada Naga Raja Sarva Naga Nagi Argham Ne, Shabda Pratichchha Ye Svaha. To the Lord Avalokiteshvara and the Naga King and retinue, I prostrate and praise. For any excesses, deficiencies, or impairments in the ritual, and for any offenses that may have displeased you, I ask for forgiveness. Recite the auspicious verses. After the rain falls, make offerings to the Nagas. This rain ritual is concise and meaningful.
