The ritual called "Horse Mantra, Shower of All-Knowing" is presented here. Namo Vajrakrodha Hayagrīvāya (Tibetan: ན་མོ་བཛྲ་ཀྲོ་ཏ་ཧྱ་གྲཱི་ཝ་ཡ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: नमो वज्रक्रोध हयग्रीवाय, Sanskrit Romanization: Namo vajrakrodha hayagrīvāya, Literal Chinese meaning: Homage to Vajra Wrathful Horse-Necked One). Homage to the Bhagavan Horse Supreme King of Power and the Bodhisattva All-Knowing Essence of the Sun. Here, from the tantras and various methods of accomplishment of Hayagriva, and as stated in the teachings of Protector Bher, the glorious perfection, and collecting the meanings of about twenty-five different kinds of Horse Mantras that have been seen, following the method of accomplishment and oral instructions of the teachings composed by King Trisong Detsen, the ritual of the Horse Deity is written in detail. All of the above are done according to the oral instruction notes and small booklets. Offer the torma, the common torma of the yidam, to Hayagriva. Offer a large blazing jewel surrounded by eight small ones to the Horse Deity. Make the shape of a horse out of tsampa, and then offer the horse offering, including the reins dragged by the horse and the horsehair blood sacrifice, and throw it outside. Make a linga out of clean tsampa, and then perform the summoning and inviting of the horse demon, kill it, and dig a small pit in the middle of the door or road and bury it. Do this as many times as possible. All of these objects of protection, obstacles, and goals to be protected, I seek refuge in the glorious and venerable lamas. I seek refuge in the Buddhas, the Bhagavat. I seek refuge in the sacred Dharma. I seek refuge in the noble Sangha. I seek refuge in the noble Hayagriva King. I seek refuge in the Bodhisattva Essence of the Sun, the human-bodied horse-headed one. I seek refuge in the noble Wrathful One Remanta. I seek refuge in the Bodhisattva Vaishravana. I seek refuge in the glorious Protector Black Horse God. I seek refuge in all the Horse Deities, including the Yaksha King who controls the three realms, Perfectly Good, and the Horse Lord Kubera. May all sentient beings, led by these objects of protection and obstacles, have happiness and the cause of happiness. May they be free from suffering and the cause of suffering. May they never be separated from the supreme bliss without suffering. May they be free from attachment and aversion to near and far, and abide in equanimity for a long time. Oṃ, from the red seed syllable Hrīḥ, arises a red vajra with nine points, marked with the syllable Hrīḥ. From it radiate rays of light, completely destroying all obstacles. The power and blessings of samsara and nirvana are gathered back and dissolve into Hrīḥ. Having completely transformed, oneself becomes the noble Hayagriva, the color of whose body blazes like the fire at the end of time. With an extremely wrathful face, from within the blazing red and yellow hair, a verdant horse head neighs, the sound of the horse echoing in the expanse of the sky, causing horse demons and obstructors to faint. The three eyes glare with hatred in the ten directions, causing obstructors to be frightened and terrified. In the open mouth, four burning fangs are tightly clenched. The tongue is curled, and the terrifying laughter of Ha Ha Hi Hi shakes the three realms. The right hand raises a golden nine-pointed vajra into the sky, and the left hand, with a threatening mudra, holds a vajra lasso. The right leg is bent and the left leg is extended, standing majestically in the midst of blazing flames of wisdom. Adorned with a crown of dry skulls and a necklace of wet skulls, a tiger skin loincloth, an upper garment of ox hide, six bone ornaments, and snakes.
