In the degenerate age of the five hundred, deadly and virulent diseases that take lives will spread throughout all kingdoms. All sentient beings will sever the path to hell, and this world will turn to darkness. However, that is not certain; all calamities arise from this. In some places, conflicts with weapons will boil like blood; in others, epidemics will fall like rain; in others, plagues will darken like clouds. Incompatible diseases are beyond comprehension. All are caused by subterranean demons. At the time when the teachings are about to collapse, it will occur in the degenerate age. Seeing this with great compassion, the Lord of Secrets, Vajradhara, displays an emanation of wrathful compassion. From the syllable (藏文：ཁྲོཾ།，梵文天城体：，梵文罗马拟音：kroṃ，汉语字面意思： क्रोध，Wrathful) in his heart, emanates the terrifying form of the Black Garuda. With three eyes and iron horns, claws and wings bent like iron hooks. The color of his body is as black as a crow, as dark and gleaming as ink. With a vajra beak, he devours nagas and virulent spirits. Having emanated in such a way, he destroys the city of virulent demons. Relying on the waist of Mount Meru, for the benefit of all beings, he speaks the chapters of secret mantras. The mantra's keys, seals, and so forth, on the eastern side of the land of Lanka (modern Sri Lanka), on the peak of Mount Malaya, where meteoric iron falls like rain, in that wondrous and amazing place, the Lord of Secrets personally appears, holding the terrifying Black Garuda in his hand. For the sake of future sentient beings, he opens the meaning with mantras and mudras, and hides it in the auspicious crescent-shaped cave. He makes aspirations for the benefit of the future, and entrusts it to all the Eight Classes of Protectors. Entrusted, entrusted, please protect it steadfastly! Thus he spoke. All the gods and demons above and below gathered, and even the ten great guardians of the directions listened and waited for orders. All the arrogant eight classes of beings were terrified and frightened. All the malicious and wicked gods and demons had their heads explode, their hearts torn out, their heart's blood spilled on the ground, and their bodies turned to ashes. Many destructions and emptinesses were seen. At that time, they respectfully prostrated and prayed to the Lord of Secrets himself. The Lord of Secrets praised the wrathful one named Yaksha-face as the deity of activity and sent him before Orgyen Padma (Padmasambhava). He was carried with majestic banners, like a garuda soaring in the sky, to the presence of the Lord of Secrets, and placed on the four-petaled lotus in front of Vajrapani. At that time, the wisdom goddess, the lion-faced dakini, offered a skull cup filled with nectar to cleanse faults. The Lord of Secrets directly conferred empowerment. He prophesied, "In the auspicious Moon Cave, there is a practice for the black activity garuda. Bring it forth!" According to the prophecy, relying on the root instructions of the profound treasure that was invoked, he created a hundred practices of the vajra garuda. For the sake of the future, he concealed them as treasures in the eight great sacred places and in the land of snowy Tibet. Samaya. Gya Gya Gya. Homage to the Lord of Secrets. Above the five precious elements, reside five million nagas and fierce spirits, suppressed by the activity garuda. It subdues malice and brings happiness to all three realms. Therefore, this great activity garuda is an emanation of the Lord of Secrets and the life force of all beings. Therefore, I, Orgyen Padmasambhava, prostrate to the activity garuda and record this practice of subduing malice for future generations. In the future, if yogis desire to practice the fierce mantra of malice, from the letters Hūṃ (藏文：ཧཱུྃ，梵文天城体：हुं，梵文罗马拟音：hūṃ，汉语字面意思：吽) and Kroṃ (藏文：ཁྲོཾ，梵文天城体：，梵文罗马拟音：kroṃ，汉语字面意思：仲), light radiates, the seed syllables dissolve, and the emanation of the activity garuda appears.
