The supremely praised Golden Light Sutra oral transmission lineage history and instructions for all poisonous diseases. Manjushrikosha. The supremely praised Golden Light Sutra oral transmission lineage history and instructions for all poisonous diseases. Manjushrikosha. The supremely praised Golden Light Sutra oral transmission lineage history and instructions are complete. Homage to the Bhagavan, the King of Medicine, the Lapis Lazuli Light. This is the history: Once in the western country of Oddiyana, on the Isle of White Lotuses, the Buddha's teachings flourished, and there was a king named Sabin who protected the Dharma. He received a hundred panditas and caused the teachings to flourish. The Great Powerful One became jealous and emanated five dakinis of poisonous vapor from his five fingers. All the people of Oddiyana suffered from twelve thousand different kinds of poisonous diseases, and all were on the verge of death. The king made offerings to his tutelary deity, the Medicine Buddha, three times during the day and three times during the night, and prayed. Once, the Bhagavan Medicine Buddha appeared before him as a thirteen-year-old boy with a blue face and asked why he was calling out so much. When the king told him the story, the boy said, 'Then take a precious vessel. From my body will come forth nectar letters that will destroy all poisons, and with this, all poisons will be pacified.' Thereupon, the king took a golden plate. This mantra was vomited out in the form of golden letters, hence it is known as the Golden Light Sutra. Then, that Dharma king pacified all poisonous diseases. That king gave it to the yogi of Oddiyana, Immortal Vajra. He gave it to Lama Surya Rati. He gave it to the Kashmiri pandita Ocean of Light. He gave it to the Tsenpo Gocha of Purang. He also offered a piece of excellent white cloth and one sang of gold, thereby greatly benefiting himself and many others. He gave it to Patsal. An offering led by a golden ear of wheat. Eight kinds of poisoning were averted. His son, Tashi Tse, was imprisoned in Zhangzhung, and this mantra was placed in the middle of a ball of tsampa and sent, averting thirteen kinds of poisoning. He gave it to Kyoton Nyima. An offering of a good horse and one sang of gold.
