19) Averting with a body-concealing tree. 20) The instructions of Dhṛtarāṣṭra (Holder of the Country). 21) Protecting the country by practicing Hayagrīva. 22) Subjugating gods and demons, forming alliances with armies and bandits, and cutting off roads. 23) Tormenting military leaders. 24) Averting by reciting scriptures. 25) Closing off mountains and rivers, striving in Dharma practice, and averting in this way. There are twenty-five methods. Here, since approach and accomplishment come first, offering to the four great kings of the realm, and offering and averting with torma. Averting through the gate of mdo (ransom thread-cross), and fire offering, etc., are practiced. The thought of the practitioner who has been described above, when practicing this, is: "The targets of enemies and obstacles, etc., should be led onto the correct path." From such a foundational thought, from compassion and bodhicitta, with the motivation of that time, one should practice with the courage and confidence of anger. For the practice, there are two aspects: arrangement and ritual procedures. First, the arrangement: In a convenient direction in the practice room, arrange a well-decorated three-tiered platform. On the first tier, place the deceased's torma for the yidam deity, the Dharma protectors, the general treasure protectors, and the offering torma for the local deities. In the center of the second tier, place a red, four-petaled glorious torma. On the right and left of that, in four containers, for the four classes of kings, on top of four levels of Mount Meru, for Dhṛtarāṣṭra, offer white, round food offerings adorned with utpala flowers. For Virūḍhaka, offer blue, square food offerings adorned with a castle-like structure and swords. For Virūpākṣa, offer red, round, four-petaled food offerings entwined with five types of snakes. For Vaiśravaṇa, offer yellow, three-storied house-shaped food offerings. At the far right of that, in a container, place a red triangle. In the four directions of that, for the four great kings, offer a white circle in the east, a black triangle in the south, a red crescent in the west, and a yellow square in the north. In the intermediate directions between these, for the eleven directional guardians, in the upper east, offer a yellow round torma, and in the lower east, offer a white round torma. In the southeast, offer a red round torma. In the south and southwest, offer a black triangle each. On the right and left of the west, offer a white circle each. In the northwest, north, and northeast, offer a black round torma each. Outside of that, in the front, offer eight white circles for the eight gods. On the right, offer dragon tormas for the eight nāgas, with a backdrop painted with nāga goddesses. In the back, offer to the eight planets, with red triangles for the Sun, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, and Rāhu, and the Moon, Mercury
