A Clear Mirror Illuminating the Practice of Appearance Divination. Garwang Gyatso. A Clear Mirror Illuminating the Practice of Appearance Divination. Garwang Gyatso. This is the treatise called "A Clear Mirror Illuminating the Practice of Appearance Divination." A union of the terma discoveries of Gyalsé Lekpa and Pema Lingpa. In the boundless depths of the ocean of aimlessness, Amidst the thousand petals of the self-radiance of compassion that illuminates all, To the emanation of the Union of the Bliss Gone One, the Vidyādhara, To Padmākara, the Wheel-Turning King, I offer my heartfelt devotion. Protectress of Bliss, Coemergent Mother, Queen of the Lake, Protectress of Bliss, Manifestation of the Mistress of all the Tenma, Mother of all yogis, fulfilling the joy of the Lotus, May you, appearing as a divine physician goddess, be my companion. The nature of all phenomena of samsara and nirvana is primordially pure, The illusion of appearing in various forms, pure and impure, Whatever is the unerring truth of relative interdependence, I write the Clear Mirror that illuminates all, to make it well manifest. Here is the mirror of illusion that clarifies, the essential instruction that clearly reveals all the good and bad of existence. This is the profound instruction for invoking the prāseṇa divination. Although it is understood that there are many categories of activities described in the tantras, scriptures, and instructions of the respective deities, it is the practice of relying on this great physician goddess and the blue faces of the five Tsering sisters that is widespread, and even now the lineage of practice is quite abundant. Here, although there are many terma teachings, both earlier and later, on relying on the physician goddess Dorje Yutronma herself, in this case, it is the lineage from the great tertön Pema Lingpa and the lineage from the tertön Gyalsé Lekpa, a confluence of two rivers, taught with the practice and experience of the vidyādhara lineage, well adorned. It is divided into two: preliminaries and main practice. First, the preliminaries, indicating the place and equipment for where to practice. The place should be a secluded and pleasant place, such as a cliffside meadow, a boundary, in the midst of snow mountains, forests, medicinal fields, or on the banks of a great river, without any concealment, a special place where physician goddesses and ḍākinīs gather. Or, if not, one should avoid south-facing ravines, cemeteries, crossroads, places where people travel, hotels, places near unclean houses, and places where manifest practices have been done before, such as one's own home.

Behind it, erect a support arrow that has been properly prepared, or if not, use an unused arrow shaft, feathers, arrowheads, crooked wood, etc. Attach five-colored or white silk ribbons. If wealthy, attach the five precious substances, conch shells, cowrie shells, and a mirror. Around these, on the right side, knead a white, round, four-petaled life-offering cake made from a mixture of grain flour, pure water, the three white substances, and the three sweet substances.
