Having unlocked the words of the Self-Arisen Vajra, distributing the nectar to fortunate beings, I pray that the immortal vidyādhara father and mother, in the heart center, may joyfully play and constantly bestow the blessings of the sacred. The essence of the nectar-swirling, immortal life tantra, the root of the ripening, is the one-day retreat empowerment, which has three parts: preliminary, main part, and concluding part. First, there are two parts: the order of activities and the order of the ritual. The first is: In an auspicious place, on an auspicious day of the waxing moon, spread a painted mandala on a clean platform. If not available, on a mandala plate, arrange nine heaps of white mustard seeds for the main deity and retinue. Separate the main deity and retinue with four heaps at each of the four doors, and place five precious vases filled with twenty-five essences, adorned with neck cords, directional colors, and lids, on low tables in the center and four directions. On top of the five torma vases, decorate with a wheel, vajra, jewel, lotus, and swastika. If convenient, place the five vases on top of the five torma vases in order, starting with the center. If inconvenient, place the wheel vase in front of the central vase, and the other four in the east, south, etc., in the four directions. Place longevity pills and longevity alcohol on the right and left. The secret substance, bandha, with proper characteristics, is a mixture of alcohol, three sweets, three whites, and dharma medicine. A clear mirror. The objects for the fourth empowerment: crystal, butter lamp, mirror, peacock feather, and individual tsa-ka-lis of the eight auspicious symbols. Gather the eight auspicious substances and the seven treasures. Arrange the activity vase, longevity arrow, etc., as convenient. If the above torma vases are placed on top of the vases, then also draw and place the hand symbols of the five families separately to the side. If not placed, then insert the central wheel, etc., in order among the lids. Place a boundary flower to the northeast of the mandala's fire mountain. Place offering water to the east.
