The precious garland of history from the Dharma cycle of Pal Black Hayagriva with Iron Razor. Written by Nyang Nyima Oser. The precious garland of history from the Dharma cycle of Pal Black Hayagriva with Iron Razor. Written by Nyang Nyima Oser. Herein lies the Dharma text called "The Precious Garland of History" from the Dharma cycle of Pal Black Hayagriva with Iron Razor. Homage to the Bhagavan, the King of Power! When the master Padmasambhava was invited by the sovereign Trisong Detsen, he was requested to reside in the garden of Drakmar Ombui. A silk brocade seat was laid out, and a Vajra secret path garment was offered to his body. A mandala of gold and turquoise was presented, and wine was poured into a golden cup. Then he was asked: Great Master, since you can clearly see all three times without obstruction, how will the good and bad times come about? The master replied: O King, when the end of times arrives, the Buddha's teachings will decline like the setting sun. The wild and savage beings will blaze like fire and rage like wind. In the evil degenerate age, the harm will come from nagas and fierce gyalpo spirits. The diseases will be leprosy and madness spreading. Epidemics and the diseases of ascetics will rage. There will be something that seems good in the short term but is ultimately bad. At that time, to benefit those beings, please teach a method that is effortless but meaningful, easy to practice and quick to accomplish. Guru said: Alas, listen, prince! This snowy land of Tibet is the worst place at the end of Jambudvipa. This land of Tibet, like a dark abyss, is to be tamed by the compassion of Avalokiteshvara. For those who cannot be tamed by peaceful means, he emanates as Pal Hayagriva to tame them. Therefore, in this evil degenerate age, the antidote to taming the earth lords, nagas, and fierce gyalpo spirits is this wrathful form of Black Hayagriva. This is extremely important, so one should strive in mantra, samadhi, and torma. I, Padmasambhava, have attained the siddhi of Hayagriva's power, have controlled the appearance and existence of the world, have made the eight classes of gods and demons my servants, and can accomplish any task without hindrance, ultimately attaining the immortal Vajra body. Therefore, for the great powerful Hayagriva, I have composed millions of methods of practice. Some are intended for the supreme benefit, some are intended for subduing arrogance, and some are intended for taming enemies and obstacles.

There, mind is gathered into one, it is the essence of all those. Secret mantras, vidyā mantras, dhāraṇī mantras, and wrathful mantras, are the sharpness of all mantras. This is easy to do, requires little effort, and is of great significance. It is a profound instruction for the benefit of followers. Do not spread it, bury it as a precious treasure. May it meet with a destined one. Having said this, he instructed Tsogyal (Yeshe Tsogyal) and the King (Trisong Detsen) himself. He (the King) in the center of the assembly hall of Samye Chimphu (བསམ་ཡས་མཆིམས་ཕུ།, a retreat place near Samye Monastery), in the pillar of the treasure trove of the dakinis, buried the precious life accomplishment, as well as the scroll of Vajravarahi's Heart Drop, and the fierce mantra for protecting the teachings, as a condition for one person to discover as a treasure. Afterwards, it was extracted by Nyang (Nyang Ral Nyima Özer), the emanation of the King, and passed down in succession. Om Ah Hum! Auspicious! Herein is the text of the practice method of the glorious Black Hayagriva with an Iron Garland. In Sanskrit: Śrī Hayagrīva Kāla Citta Sādhanam. In Tibetan: The Practice Method of the Heart of the Glorious Black Hayagriva. Homage to the Bhagavan, the Hero, the One to be Accomplished. The compassionate activity of all Buddhas of the three times, gathered into one, is Avalokiteśvara who benefits beings, showing various ways to tame beings according to their needs. For those stubborn beings who cannot be tamed by peaceful means, he manifests as the wrathful Black Hayagriva to subdue them. His extremely wrathful form is the Black Yaksha with an Iron Garland. He is the enemy of enemies, obstacles, curses, planets, nagas, gyalpo spirits, and sen spirits. From the very nature of the peaceful Dharmakaya, in order to subdue the wicked, he manifests as a wrathful form. He is also called Black Hayagriva, also called Black Yaksha, also called Black Evil Spirit, also called Black Protector, Hayagriva Mahakala. The incomparable compassion is the Lama, the swift blessing is the Yidam, the protector of the teachings is the Dharmapala, and the one who liberates enemies and obstacles is the Karmamudra. Although there are some elaborate and concise versions of this, this practice of the single hero, because there is no definite retinue, the auspicious lineage is very gentle. The arrogant yakshas, the eight classes of gods and demons, are naturally and powerfully the retinue, it is extremely sharp and swift. In the degenerate age of the five hundred, the gods and demons of the eight classes blaze like fire, beings are fierce like storms, plagues, famines, and weapons rage like water, sudden obstacles fall like thunderbolts. At that time, the mantra holder and practitioner is like a hero entering the battlefield. At that time, there are two kinds of needs, here.
