This profound and condensed instruction of glorious red Hayagriva has three aspects to practice: Self-generation practice, Front-generation practice, And the activities based on both. In the mandala of [Hayagriva], I take refuge, please hold me with compassion. Repeat three times. Accumulating merit and purifying the stream of being with the seven branches: To all the Gurus, Yidams, and Deities, Of the ten directions and three times, All the Victorious Ones with their Sons, Heroes and Dakinis, I take refuge. I prostrate with body, speech, and mind, I offer outer, inner, and secret offerings. I confess all my collections of sins, I rejoice in the virtue of myself and others. I urge you to turn the wheel of Dharma, I beseech you not to pass into sorrow. I dedicate the virtue to great enlightenment. Repeat three times. Blessing the Offering Substances: Hūṃ! His right hand raises a vajra skull club to the sky, striking the crown of the head of all arrogant and haughty spirits. His left hand points a threatening mudra at his heart, from the tip of which emanates a hook of wisdom fire, burning all the unruly and malicious beings without remainder. His mouth is open and his tongue is curled. His teeth are bared and his beard and eyebrows blaze fiercely. His three eyes glare with fierce anger. He is completely filled with a wrathful and ferocious expression. The red-yellow hair on his head blazes like fire, standing upright, and on the crown of his head is a green horse head.
