This is a covenant to protect oneself (body, speech, and mind) from all harm. On the back of the outer protection wheel, draw various crossed vajras. In the center of the crossed vajras, write the mantra: Om Vajrapani Hum Phat Om, Vajrapani, Hum, Phat). Protect me! This mantra should be written. This is the order of writing. Samaya! Gya Gya Gya! Ati! Then, for the mantras of the deities, use Guggu's Vam Amrita. Smear blessed earth from sacred places. For the king's dharani and action mantras, use the life force of a white dog with a red nose, the blood of a monkey and domestic fowl. Offer Guggu, white and black mustard seeds. Great ashes, red Rishi grass, musk, camphor, black Shudak. Smear with red pigment and black coral. This is the order of substances. Samaya! Gya Gya Gya! Ati! Consecrate by a virtuous monk or a tantric practitioner who keeps vows. At an auspicious time or on an auspicious astrological day, such as the eighth or twenty-fifth, pour barley on a white base. Set out offerings and tormas to the yidam and Dharma protectors, and common offerings to the eight classes of beings. Pour in unpolluted alcohol and unspoiled meat. Visualize yourself in the generation and completion stages, and complete the recitation and torma offerings. Then, through instantaneous samadhi, in the state of emptiness beyond conceptualization of samsara and nirvana, purify the sins of the iron lion. In the belly full of food, generate the golden wheel properly. Clearly visualize the nine principal deities and retinue, such as the crystal mirror. From the heart of yourself and the Dharma protectors, emanate rays of light like iron hooks. Attract and bring back the truth. Absorb them into the wheel, bless and offer the torma. Offer and praise the offerings and torma according to the ritual, and command the truth. Visualize the yidam in the center of the crystal mirror. Think of the gods and demons listening to the commands. Recite the life mantra of consecration many times: Om Vajra Sarva Dushtan Nan (藏文:ཨོཾ་བཛྲ་སརྦ་དུཥྚཱན་ནན,梵文天城体:,梵文罗马拟音:oṃ vajra sarva duṣṭān nan,汉语字面意思:Om, Vajra, all, evil ones, Nan). E, Hur, Thum, Tri, Kill, Ra, Ba). Consecrate with this key suppressing mantra and the mantra of dependent origination. The number of recitations is ten thousand or one hundred thousand, but at least one hundred and eight times. In the center of the protection wheel, visualize the wisdom being abiding. Wrap it with various colored silks, and make it into blue clothing. Samaya! Gya Gya Gya! Ati! Then, the method of placing the wheel is to coordinate with auspicious astrological signs and dates. At the peak of sunrise, have the patron bathe and dispel obstacles, and also offer offerings to ward off evil spirits.

UL! The outer part of the wheel is wrapped with black. Generally, it is worn on the neck or the crown of the head. The specific individual functions are: if cutting off the death demon, wear it on the neck; if cutting off curses, wear it on the right arm; if healing minor spirits, wear it on the collarbone; if striking a madman, wear it on the heart; if guarding against planets or leprosy, wear it on the left elbow; if guarding vows and evil directions, wear it on the right wrist; if guarding against lightning and weapons, wear it on the crown of the head; if there is a major loss of property, wear it on the necks of horses and livestock; if evil spirits and demons enter the house, or if illnesses increase, wear it on the upper lintel of the door, or on the door of the tent. If performing Naga suppression, hang it under the eaves. This is the order of hanging the wheel. Samaya, Gya Gya Gya, Ati. The order of holding the wheel is: hold it as the "King's Life Wheel"; hold it as the "Obscuration Screen of a Thousand Gods and Demons"; hold it as the "Increasing Prosperity"; hold it as the "Dispelling a Thousand Curses"; hold it as the "Jewel Armor for Protecting Against Leprosy"; hold it as the "Weapon for Subduing Minor Spirits"; hold it as the "Vajra Jewel for Protecting Against Weapons"; hold it as the "Burning Fire Pile for Protecting Against Lightning"; hold it as the "Golden Razor for Dispelling Suppression"; hold it as the "Sattvare for Cutting Off Disasters"; hold it as the "Dusting Broom for Sweeping Away Ghosts and Demons"; hold it as the "Wheel of the King's General Vow"; hold it as the "Great Life Wheel of the Eight Classes' General Vow." This is the order of holding the Tantra. Samaya, Gya Gya Gya, Ati. The way this wheel is hidden as treasure is: When the Great Master of Oddiyana came to Tibet, he first arrived in Lato in Tsang (a regime established between 1085 and 1265), also known as "Golden Land of Yultok," also known as "Lahu Gold Mine," and arrived at a place called "Buto Shangdu." There, non-humans created obstacles. When Guru Rinpoche turned this wheel, some king demons and fierce evil spirits fainted, some died, and some fled to other lands. Guru Padmasambhava of Oddiyana generated great compassion and arrived at Droshö in Tsang, burying it in the pillar slot at the top of Tradun Tse Temple, and appointed the ash-colored demon Tongde of Turga as the treasure guardian. "When the final age of the future comes, when Tibet is threatened by harm, by this wheel, may all the gods and demons of Tibet be bound by oath, may it protect against all harm." Thus it was said.
