The power of all Sugatas gathered into one, like a cutting razor, like a burning fire, like a swift thunderbolt, this instruction has seven meanings: the accumulation of support substances and mandala, the generation of the deity as the basis, the recitation of the mantra as the power, the collection of the deity and mantra into the completion stage, then carrying the behavior into practice, applying the accomplishment to the activity, and showing the benefits of the accomplished. First, the accumulation of support substances and mandala: A Mahayana yogi, possessing empowerment and vows, at a lapis lazuli mountain or a snow mountain, or the shore of a fierce lake, or a auspicious place, sets outer and inner boundaries, confesses if there are any broken vows, prays to the Three Jewels, and performs any virtuous deeds that can be accomplished. Then, after requesting the land from the earth deity with the ritual of requesting land, on an auspicious land, measure an equal area of one cubit or one fathom with a clod of earth, from the center upwards, smear the higher surface with sandalwood, musk, camphor, etc., sprinkle with fragrant scents and nectar water, bless the red thread spun by a young girl, and first draw the line of a single door.
