Burn excellent incense. Burn excellent butter lamps and so on. Offer ransom to obstacles, cut off boundaries. Steadfastly meditate on the protective wheel. Invite the Three Jewels, prostrate and pay homage. Make offerings and present mandalas. These seven branches are completely purified, and pray intensely. These are the preliminaries. The main practice has outer, inner, and secret aspects. Outwardly, like a gathering of victorious ones like the ocean, place them all outside. Inwardly, like placing them on the body. Secretly, like placing them on the channels. Most secretly, place it on the mind. This also has approaching, accomplishing, and activity. Most secretly, introduce the fruit. The outer approach is to: Sit on a comfortable cushion in the mudra of meditation, take refuge and generate bodhichitta, and in emptiness, in the center of a lotus stem with three branches, on a sun and moon cushion, one's own mind HRIH (ཧྲཱིཿ,Devanagari: ह्रीः,IAST: hrīḥ,Literal Meaning: shyness), radiate light and purify the obscurations of sentient beings. Become a gathering of victorious ones like the ocean. Gather back, collect the blessings of the Buddhas. Dissolve into HRIH (ཧྲཱིཿ,Devanagari: ह्रीः,IAST: hrīḥ,Literal Meaning: shyness), and dissolve into light. Oneself becomes the form of Avalokiteśvara, red and clear, one face and four arms, adorned with precious jewels, sitting in vajra posture. The first two hands are joined in prayer, the lower right hand holds a red lotus rosary, the left hand holds a red utpala flower. The crown of the hair is adorned with silk, Possessing the life force of precious relics. Red eyes, smiling face, with compassion, looking upon all sentient beings. Surrounded by a thousand Buddhas of the Fortunate Aeon. All the mandalas of the victorious ones like the ocean are gathered here. On the lotus and moon above my crown, the root guru himself is, the essence of Amitabha, sitting in vajra posture, possessing the mudra of equipoise. Meditate as the emanation body, the Kagyu lamas and vidyadharas, naked, three-eyed, adorned with bone ornaments, embracing with vajra and bell. Surrounded by the form of Vajradhara. Meditate on bestowing blessings and empowerment. On the lotus stem and sun to the right, on the seat of the four maras is the body of Hayagriva, red-black, one face and two arms, the right hand holding a damaru, the left hand a threatening mudra. Leaning on the hip together with the bell. Tiger skin skirt, charnel ground attire, adorned with snakes. Wrathful face, three eyes bared fangs. In the center of the swirling red-yellow hair, a green horse head neighs. Red mustache blazing like fire. Dakinis and so on.
