Others remain as before. Buddha Amitabha sits in the vajra posture. One's own Brahma aperture is wide open like a vast sky, appearing grayish. Visualize the essence of consciousness, the bindu, passing through the central channel and transferring into the heart of Buddha Amitabha. Pull the hair upwards and with twenty-one strong "HIK (藏文, Devanagari, Romanization, Literal Meaning)" sounds, like a shooting star from the Brahma aperture. By practicing the transference of consciousness into the heart of the Buddha, if signs of transference appear, such as the consciousness becoming dark and the breath not being inhaled but extending outwards, and a feeling of pain or itching on the crown of the head, then it is working. If these signs do not appear, temporarily apply cold water and rest for a moment. Again, visualize clearly and transfer with strong "HIK (藏文, Devanagari, Romanization, Literal Meaning)" sounds, etc. If signs appear, transfer with twenty-one "HIK (藏文, Devanagari, Romanization, Literal Meaning)" sounds as before. If it still does not transfer, reciting from twenty-two to twenty-five times will definitely transfer it. Finally, visualize that the protector Amitabha dissolves into the heart of the Buddha in the pure land of one's choice, or dissolves into the clear light Mahamudra. One should remember virtuous deeds, and fellow practitioners should also give reminders. It is also said that if one is unable to make the "HIK (藏文, Devanagari, Romanization, Literal Meaning)" sound due to severe illness, etc., one should direct one's visualization, prana, and mind upwards and strongly wish to transfer. One's companion may also urge with twenty-five strong "PHAT (藏文, Devanagari, Romanization, Literal Meaning)" or twenty-five strong "HIK (藏文, Devanagari, Romanization, Literal Meaning)" sounds, etc., and one should listen. In general, compared to practicing transference at indefinite times, it is said that transference at the time of death is particularly easier. For people or animals who do not understand these things, the yogi only needs to visualize, and even if they do not explain the situation to them, it will be successful, as proven by experience. If even that is not possible, then at the time of death, simply touching the crown of the head, or merely reciting the name of the Medicine Buddha, the eight bodhisattvas will lead them to Sukhavati. For animals, etc., at the time of death, simply adjusting the body and reciting the name of the Tathagata Precious Crown, they will definitely be reborn in the Thirty-Three Heavens or other good realms. I said: The quick path to Buddhahood without practice, the Dharma of Transference, Amitabha himself perfectly instructed to the very Ugyen Padmasambhava. The profound essence of the excellent instructions without confusion, I will explain, who else would instruct?

Like gold dust and iron filings mixed together, Differentiation requires a magnet, nothing else. Likewise, the difference between the wise and the foolish, Arises from well-spoken compositions, not elsewhere. When I first heard of this path, I meditated diligently until I saw certainty. Again, with good experience, I strived well, Abandoning self-creation, I relied solely on this. Nowadays, most rely on mere hearing, Plagiarizing and chasing after fame, This is completely different. By the virtue arising from composing this, May that virtue, white as a conch, May we, ignorant beings, Attain the Dharmakaya of clear light at the time of death. Thus, the profound path of transference, the Rope Method. This very [text], in the past, mostly consisted of self-powered and plagiarized self-creations of most spiritual friends, a mixture of correct and incorrect, and only a concise text of reliable origin. Now, it has been compiled by those with suitable connections, in Ü-Tsang (Central Tibet), in Drigung, the last descendant of the Kyura lineage, the Bhikshu Shakya, who speaks of being proficient in ten branches of knowledge, having realized the actual state, the Vidyadhara Dharmakirti Trinley Nampar Gyalwai De, who has attained stability in the Dharmakaya of death and clear light, on the auspicious day of the month of miracles in the Wood Rat year, in the Wangden Phodrang chamber of Kunga Rawa in Zhopro Lung, was quickly written and completed. May it be auspicious! The history, oral instructions, and guidance manual of the profound path of transference, the Rope Method. By Dharmakirti.
