The profound instructions of the immortal life practice, the Vajra Knot, the heart essence of the oath-bound, secret. The profound instructions of the immortal life practice, the Vajra Knot, the heart essence of the oath-bound, secret. This is the profound instruction of the immortal life practice, the Vajra Knot, the heart essence of the oath-bound, called Secret. I prostrate to the protector of the blissful realm, the immeasurable life and wisdom, the kind root guru inseparable from him. Regarding the order of the immortal life practice, the Vajra Knot, there are three: preliminary, main practice, and subsequent. First, the preliminary practice, such as the eight verses on thought transformation, is like the common Dharma. At the beginning of the session, contemplate well on the difficulty of obtaining leisure and endowment, the impermanence of death, and the principles of karma and its effects. Especially, the impermanence of death is uncertain when it will come. When it arrives, no one can stop it. We desire long life, not to eliminate obstacles for a year or two, but to attain the supreme state of immortality, like the immortal Padmasambhava. Generate such a mind. Then, on a lotus, sun, and moon cushion in the sky above your crown or in front of you, inseparable from the root guru, the protector Amitayus and wisdom, whose body is red, even redder than ordinary red, like a mountain of coral surrounded by a hundred million suns, adorned with silk and various jewels. On the hands in the meditation mudra, he holds a vase filled with the essence of immortal life nectar, like a wish-fulfilling tree with abundant fruits, flowers in full bloom. Around him are the lamas of the life-extending lineage, and in short, all the lamas with the nine lineages, as well as the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas of the three times, the sacred Dharma, the noble Sangha, the peaceful and wrathful deities of the four and six tantras, heroes and dakinis, oath-bound protectors, guardians of the Dharma, with eyes of wisdom, all gathered like rainbows, sparkling brilliantly. Or, as in the case of Guru Yoga, in front are the deities of the mandala, on the right are the Buddhas, behind is the sacred Dharma, on the left is the Sangha, and the space in between is filled with hosts of heroes and dakinis, clearly visualized as convenient. Especially the root guru and Amitayus are two.

Without omission, may it be perfectly clear! Homage! I take refuge in the immortal god of life! Take refuge with this. May I and all sentient beings transcend death, both timely and untimely, and in order to attain the immortal Vajra body, having practiced the immortal Vajra knot. Thinking that all sentient beings, equal to the sky, are also placed in the state of immortality. Generate the mind of enlightenment, practice the life-accomplishment for the benefit of all beings! And so on, strive to make the words and meaning consistent. The above are the two, refuge and bodhicitta. In such a clear field of merit, again reciting the immortal life deity assembly, etc., countless deity assemblies descend, and contemplate even more than before, with oneself as the main one, all beings together with great reverence. Prostrating with ease, gentleness, and swiftness is the antidote to pride, it is the limb of prostration. Offering forms, sounds, smells, tastes, tactile objects, etc., outer, inner, and secret offerings, actual arrangements, and mind-emanated assemblies, like the clouds of Samantabhadra's offerings, is the antidote to attachment, it is the limb of offering. Whatever sins, downfalls, and faults have been committed through the three doors of body, speech, and mind, and what has been instigated to be done, and what has been rejoiced in others doing, in short, all the sins and downfalls, whether felt or unfelt, are confessed with strong remorse. Not concealing, not hiding, thinking like this is the antidote to hatred, it is the limb of confession. Rejoicing in the deeds of the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, the virtues practiced by oneself through the three doors of body, speech, and mind, the virtues practiced by relatives and friends, the virtues done by enemies, friends, and neutrals, the virtues practiced by enemies, etc., all the pure virtues practiced by anyone, is the antidote to jealousy, it is the limb of rejoicing. From one's own heart, emanate countless Brahma gods holding jewel mandalas in their hands, and to the Buddhas, Bodhisattvas, and disciples of the three times, Urging them to turn the wheel of the true Dharma is the antidote to ignorance, it is the limb of urging the wheel of Dharma. Again, from one's own heart, emanate countless deities of urging, such as the goddess Cunda and the Arhat Cunda, and request all the Buddhas, Bodhisattvas, and disciples not to pass into complete nirvana.
