I, Padmasambhava, am the essence of Amitayus. Therefore, I will explain the practice of longevity. It has three parts: preliminary, main practice, and concluding practice. Preliminary: In the center of the elaborate, intermediate, or simple mandala, arrange the complete longevity vase with all the vase substances. On the right, arrange the longevity torma, longevity stalk, and pills. On the left, arrange the longevity chang and longevity arrow, adorned with red silk. Above or behind, arrange the three roots general torma. Deities, tsakli, rosaries, vajra, mirror, etc., arrange the substances for accomplishment and empowerment, either externally or internally, as appropriate. In front, arrange medicine, rakta, torma, tsok, and offerings. Prepare all the necessary arrangements and implements. Bless the preliminary torma and offer it to the white side deities. To subdue, expel, and bind all the black side obstacles: ཨོཾ་（藏文） པདྨཱནྟ་ཀྲྀཏ་བཛྲ་ཀྲོ་ཏ་ཧྱ་གྲཱི་ཝ་ཧཱུྃ་ཕཊ（梵文天城体） om padmāntakṛta vajra krota hyagrīva hūṃ phaṭ（梵文罗马拟音） Om, Lotus Foot, Vajra, Wrathful, Hayagriva, Hum Phet! (Literal meaning) Visualize yourself as the Hero Hayagriva, with a red body, holding a curved knife and skull cup filled with blood, adorned with wrathful ornaments, standing with legs extended, suppressing arrogance. The neighing of the horse from the crown of the head subdues existence and pacifies all demons and obstructors. Meditate on this and, with samadhi and mudra, summon the obstructing forces from the four directions and eight intermediate directions. Second, give the command torma, and finally expel and cut off the boundaries: HRIH! By the blessings of the lamas, the samadhi of the yidam deities, and the power of the dakinis, may the obstructors who hinder accomplishment and the hordes of demons who lead astray not remain here, but return to their own places! If you do not leave and remain here, I myself will become the Great Powerful Wrathful One and destroy your body, speech, and mind like dust! Therefore, do not remain, but return to your own places! ཨོཾ་བཛྲ་ཀྲོ་ཏ་ཧྱ་གྲཱི་ཝ་ཧུ་ལུ་ཧུ་ལུ་ཧཱུྃ་ཕཊ（藏文，梵文天城体，梵文罗马拟音，汉语字面意思）！ Om Vajra Krodha Hayagriva Hulu Hulu Hum Phet! Amitāyus, the embodiment of all Sugata Buddhas! In the essence of the refuge, the Three Jewels! I and all sentient beings! Take refuge until enlightenment is attained! I generate bodhicitta for the benefit of all beings! Having accomplished Amitāyus, the embodiment of all Buddha families! Through various activities that tame whatever needs taming! I vow to liberate the beings of the six realms! I invite the Guru, Yidam, and Dakini to come forth! Residing in the three pure realms of the three bodies! We yogis prostrate with reverence! Please accept the outer, inner, and secret offerings! I confess all transgressions, downfalls, and obscurations! I rejoice in the meaning of the unsurpassed secret mantra! Please turn the wheel of Dharma of the maturing and liberating secret mantra! May the Victorious Ones not pass into nirvana, but remain for the benefit of others! May the essence be dedicated to the benefit of sentient beings! May I realize the meaning of the immortal, authentic Vajra! Thus, through the ten-limbed practice of refuge and bodhicitta, accumulate merit and purify obscurations.
