One should fiercely perform expulsion and cursing. If the samadhi is unclear and dullness is great, then one should fiercely perform offerings, praises, torma, mantras, and curses to the wisdom being. Furthermore, regarding the material and measurements for making the linga ( लिंग , liṅga, phallus) for fire offerings and so on, from the explanation tantra of Yamāntaka in sixty thousand verses: The linga is ten fingers long and possesses power; the hair stands on end, naked and hollow; the name is written on the heart, and the clan on the forehead; life on the crown, essence on the navel; letters are written on the throat, each placed separately; ancestors, descendants, and siblings are also placed; it is smeared inside and out with various diseases, plagues, knife wounds, and blood, as well as various poisons; similarly, ginger, garlic, long pepper; it is smeared on the outside with three hot spices; this is the cause for killing the near causes; it provokes castle-like demons, those with demonic qualities, phlegm, and bile; the seeds of a donkey and all diseases are gathered; red meat generates heat in the body; it cultivates disease and blood, and kills with various poisons. As it is said, mix these substances with the substances mentioned in our own tradition, write the aforementioned letters on paper, and place them in their respective places. Furthermore, the key point to be known is that, as it is said in the Vajrasekhara Tantra: Avoid corruptions such as abbreviations. Therefore, one should avoid abbreviations, circles, patterns, etc., in the letters, avoid letters touching each other, sticking together, and connecting, avoid closures, avoid writing errors, omissions, and additions, avoid errors in mantras and curses, avoid holes and stains on the cloth or paper used for writing, avoid gaps where the beginning and end do not meet in the mantras and curses of the circles that need to be written around, and the smearing substances should not exceed their respective smearing locations. For the obstructing spirits, one should smear the mountains, rocks, springs, trees, etc., that are specifically targeted. In particular, one should avoid errors such as the leakage of one's own scent, and avoid the three faults of error, defilement, and confusion, and write carefully. For the letters of the enemy's name, from the beginning, draw boundaries, and smear with the substances that bring one's own executioner upon oneself, and any collection of the six impurities, heated in an iron vessel until steam rises. Furthermore, for the seed syllables and images in the heart, smear red with the blood that brings the life executioner upon the life, and also smear the seminal fluid. Thus, for the various activities of fierce actions, the key points of the linga, etc., are essential.

These are some important points written down without concealment, mainly based on the meaning of the 'Black Essence of Secret Instructions'. Furthermore, in order to facilitate practice, the meanings of various tantras of manifest action, and those hidden in the oral instructions of the Guru, are written here in a concise manner. From the vast expanse of the tantric oral instructions, from the unprecedented blue clouds of oral transmission, may the iron thunderbolt of a thousand roaring fierce mantras descend as a weapon to subdue the wicked! Some, burdened by great knowledge and responsibility, do not rely on the secret teachings of the wise, and are arrogant like stout elephants, more secretive than the roar of an ancient turquoise dragon. I, with great effort, have revered the lotus feet of the wise as the crown ornament on my head, and have received the drop of secret nectar of oral transmission. Therefore, become familiar with and master these teachings. May the merit generated by this diligence shine like the rising sun, destroying all fierce demonic hosts, causing the great secret Dharma lotus garden to flourish, and may all beings quickly attain the state of Samantabhadra! Thus, this work called 'The Essential Key Nail Indispensable for Fierce Manifest Action' was written by the Ngakpa Karma Drakpa of the Nyang clan, born in the northern part of Uru (near Lhasa). May it be the cause for the precious Buddha's teachings to remain for a long time, and for the destruction of the unruly enemy forces into ashes. Auspicious!
