Cutting the ties of earthly clinging, I offer my body, possessions, and all virtuous roots as a mandala to the assembly of gurus, yidams, and dakinis. I purify all that arises into self-display. By resting naturally and without contrivance upon the arising of the stages of dissolution, liberation arises through appearance, which is the mother luminosity. Without meditation, the luminosity of emptiness spontaneously arises, which is the ground luminosity. Recognizing it as if meeting a familiar person, the ground and path luminosities become one. The most capable are instantly transferred to a pure land of their choice and attain Buddhahood. Those of middling capacity remain in the luminosity for three weeks or any desired length of time. Then, upon the reversed appearance, they arise in the form of the Union and transfer their consciousness from the crown of their head, directing their awareness to a pure land of their choice, such as Sukhavati. Even those with slightly less practice will gradually recognize the ground and paths and become Vajradharas. Like the above, contemplate that all that has been said arises after one's own death, and that whatever arises to oneself is like illusion, dream, self-display, emptiness, and delusion, and train in emptiness. Take it to heart according to the guru's instructions, and contemplate that even the appearance of death is like a dream or illusion, and train and meditate in emptiness. Then, whatever arises, whether outer or inner, vessel or contents, forms, sounds, smells, tastes, tangible objects, actions, experiences, friends, places, wealth, or possessions, are all appearances of the bardo. Thinking that it is self-display, emptiness, and illusion, train in emptiness. This body is also the mind-body of the bardo's self-display, self-display, emptiness, dream, and illusion, so train in that. Even when sounds are heard, they are the self-sounds of self-display and emptiness. Likewise, whatever forms, thoughts, or cognitions arise are the self-display of the bardo, empty, without inherent existence, like the sky, so contemplate and train in emptiness. Then, thinking that after one's own death, the consciousness of the bardo goes aimlessly, falling into a precipice, being blown by blizzards and black winds, encountering wild animals in deep, dark ravines, hearing the roars of fierce and violent beings, being frightened and terrified, drowning in fire and water, being desired by executioners, being attacked by weapons, and so on, thinking that after one's own death, unbearable bardo terrors of various kinds arise, think that this is also illusion, the self-display of the bardo, emptiness, and delusion, and thinking that one's own mind is unborn and empty, rest in the state of clear emptiness, inexpressible, beyond mind, the Great Perfection.

Print it and practice as before. Then visualize that all directions above and below are filled with sound, light, and rays, and that peaceful and wrathful bodies are shining, and that various manifestations of the five lights are radiating. Also, this is the appearance of the bardo. Even before the sounds of Hūṃ (Tibetan: ཧཱུྃ, Sanskrit Devanagari: हुं, Sanskrit Romanization: hūṃ, Literal meaning: Hūṃ) Hūṃ (Tibetan: ཧཱུྃ, Sanskrit Devanagari: हुं, Sanskrit Romanization: hūṃ, Literal meaning: Hūṃ) and Phaṭ (Tibetan: ཕཊ, Sanskrit Devanagari: फट, Sanskrit Romanization: phaṭ, Literal meaning: Phaṭ) Phaṭ (Tibetan: ཕཊ, Sanskrit Devanagari: फट, Sanskrit Romanization: phaṭ, Literal meaning: Phaṭ) are produced, appearances are unreal, all sounds are the self-sound of emptiness, all lights are the self-light of wisdom, all rays are the self-rays of dharmata, all bodies are the naturally arising and self-manifesting holy hundred families, and in reality, nothing is established. One's own mind is emptiness, illusion, dream, and bardo. Thinking in this way, practice emptiness as self-appearance as before. Then, when you are in the bardo, Yama holds the balance of good and evil, distinguishing between good and evil. Think that the King of Yama and the various hat-wearing workers are making terrifying sounds, beating and striking, and striking with various weapons. Also, this is self-appearing emptiness, a dream and illusion, and in reality, nothing is established. Thinking in this way, practice emptiness and meditate as before. Then, when you are looking for a place to be born, you are involuntarily chased by executioners who kill and cut, and you enter a house of iron, enter a fire, and enter a slightly dark shadow, etc. These are signs of being born in hell. Entering tree stumps, bird nests, empty caves, etc., is to be born as a hungry ghost. Entering thick darkness and going downwards is a sign of being born as an animal. A lake decorated with swans is the Eastern Continent of Superior Body, decorated with cows is the Western Continent of Cow Enjoyment, decorated with horses is the Northern Continent of Unpleasant Sound, and seeing mansions, various enjoyments, and the union of parents is the Southern Jambudvipa. Entering the steps of the mansion of precious jewels and the various enjoyments of the gods is a sign of being born as a god. Like this, being confused, searching for fragrance and searching for a womb are confused appearances, and the six realms are also illusions. Dreams are self-appearing emptiness. Thinking in this way, one will not go to evil places of birth. Unreal, in reality, nothing is established, think of it as illusion, and the mind is unborn. Thinking in this way, rest in a state of non-contrivance and practice as before. Then, you yourself should know that you will be reborn in Sukhavati or the Pure Land of Manifest Joy, or any of the five Buddha-family pure lands that you wish to be reborn in. Again,
