A practice manual for the Terma New Treasure Deathless Three Roots Combined Practice, "The Excellent Path to Immortality." Dharma Swami. A practice manual for the Terma New Treasure Deathless Three Roots Combined Practice, "The Excellent Path to Immortality." Dharma Swami. The practice manual for the Terma New Treasure Deathless Three Roots Combined Practice, entitled "The Excellent Path to Immortality," is presented herein. In the great kingdom of deathless constancy and meaning, At the lotus feet of Padmasambhava, the sovereign, With reverence, I prostrate and present here A readily applicable guide to the practice of deathlessness. Herein, the steps for practicing the sadhana of the protector Amitayus, who arises as the combined manifestation of the Three Roots, brought forth from the lower level of the Deathless Vajra Casket in the immaculate rainbow cave of the Dakini's Joyful Grove at Ma Ku Lung, are as follows: Enter retreat during an auspicious time in the waxing moon, with favorable constellations and dates. The location for practice should be auspicious, possessing the excellent qualities of a site conducive to accomplishing deathlessness. In a secluded place with complete favorable conditions and easy for gathering, spread a white mat marked with a vajra and a yungdrung norbu. On a pedestal facing oneself, construct a mandala of colored powders or a painted cloth according to the ritual. Alternatively, in the center of a red-covered pedestal, arrange heaps of white grains on a mandala, marking the abodes of the deities with fragrant dots and reciting the root mantras. In any case, in the center of the mandala, on a low table, place a precious vase adorned with a spout, neck cord, vase insignia, etc., filled with a continuous flow of water, into which thirty-five vase medicines have been added. If one wishes to elaborate further, place a single skull cup on top of it, filled with various foods, grains, medicines, etc., and especially longevity pills with the power to liberate upon tasting, as well as longevity pills containing the (ཧྲཱིཿ,梵文天城体:ह्रीः,梵文罗马拟音:hrīḥ,种子字:舍) syllable and the Gyama (རྒྱ་མ།) character, and on top of that, place two speech longevity wheels, carefully crafted according to the secret instructions hidden within the text. Seal a clear mirror, free from tarnish, with protection mantras written in vermillion. On top of that, place a three-dimensional statue or a tsakali, and above that, erect a red silk tent supported by a bamboo frame. If this is not possible, a single vase in the center will suffice. At all times, place a torma in the shape of a longevity vase in front. Furthermore, as stated in the text itself, combine the twenty-five supreme substances.

Arrangement and decoration: On the right, place longevity pills made from a mixture of three sweets and grain essence. On the left, place a skull cup (kapāla) filled with fine liquor, infused with molasses and medicinal herbs made from eight roots and a thousand branches. Behind, erect the longevity arrow as described in the ritual text, adorned with jewels and five-colored silks symbolizing the body, speech, mind, qualities, and activities. In the center of the mandala's east, place a longevity cake made from a mixture of grain flour, white sugar, and alcohol, or a large longevity life-essence pill (tshe gal) like the Zari hill, white on the right and red on the left, with a vajra or yellow sun and moon crest at the top, and four lotus petals at the base. To its right and left, place medicine offerings and rakta. Starting from the front of the longevity life-essence pill (tshe gal), arrange double water offerings, the five preliminary offerings, and boundary-holding grains in squares in all directions and corners of the mandala in a clockwise direction. In the back, if possible, arrange the torma of mantra protectors and the three types of gods, demons, and tsen. If simplifying, place a small red torma for cutting off samsara, and offerings for the guardian deities and feast gathering items nearby. In front of oneself, arrange incense, conch shell, hand drum, vajra bell, inner offering, etc. It is easy to recite when practicing in four sessions. First, in the early morning session at dawn, with refuge and bodhicitta as the preliminary, give tormas to the obstructing forces and dispel them. Build a white lime wall outside. Meditate on the boundary and protection wheel. Bless the offerings. Invoke blessings. The main practice is the coemergent yoga of realizing oneself and the deity as inseparable, or if one cannot grasp it through dualistic clinging, visualize the practice items as different deities, and accomplish it through visualization, recitation, and chanting, i.e., through the three samadhis of recollection, generation stage, and invitation. Perform seating, offering, prostration, and praise, etc., and follow the third part of the activity ritual and treasure text, i.e., the practice stage, because the sentences are slightly longer, so it should be done like the "Heart Essence Illumination," and during the recitation, according to the activity ritual, starting from "Myself is the Bhagavan, in the heart of the main deity," until "Achieve the immortal rainbow body vajra life," here all the key points of intention and visualization for recitation have been shown. The visualization sequence is very clear, the meaning is complete and concise, i.e., relying on the generation stage of the ritual text to prolong life.
