Also, the notes on the Yangter Three Roots Union Practice, Rays of Jewels. Written by Mipham Jamyang Gyatso. Also, the notes on the Yangter Three Roots Union Practice, Rays of Jewels. Written by Mipham Jamyang Gyatso. The notes on the Yangter Three Roots Union Practice, Rays of Jewels are respectfully recorded. Namo Guru Padma Manjushri Vajra Tikshnaya. (Tibetan: ན་མོ་གུ་རུ་པདྨ་མཉྫུ་ཤྲཱི་བཛྲ་ཏཱིཀྵྞཱ་ཡ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: नमो गुरु पद्म मञ्जुश्री वज्र तीक्ष्णाय, Sanskrit Romanization: Namo guru padma mañjuśrī vajra tīkṣṇāya, Literal Chinese meaning: Homage to the Guru, Lotus, Manjushri, Vajra, Sharp) Here, the essence of the profound terma of the Tamer of Beings, the Buddha Lama, the common ancestor of the ocean of tertöns and accomplished ones, the peerless omniscient Dorje Ziji Tsal (རྡོ་རྗེ་གཟི་བརྗིད་རྩལ།), our guide, to whom the command of Yangter descended again as a terma, is the condensed instruction sequence of the Three Roots Union Practice. The way to practice it, according to the oral tradition of Jamgön Lama (འཇམ་མགོན་བླ་མ།) himself, abandoning self-creation, is recorded in these notes in three parts: preliminaries, main practice, and conclusion. The first part has two: the preliminary of the session and the preliminary of the instruction. First, as the text says: On a comfortable seat, straighten the body, eliminate the nine rounds of breath, etc. Of the three essentials: body, speech, and mind, First, in a secluded place, sit comfortably on a seat, the body posture being the seven-point posture of Vairochana. Or, even if not, keep the body straight. The speech essential is to eliminate the nine rounds of breath or the three rounds of breath, and visualize that all diseases, evil spirits, sins, and obscurations disappear like smoke rising from a chimney. Calm the mind and think that for the benefit of all sentient beings pervading the sky, I will practice the profound path. Visualize the root guru on your crown, and think of him as the essence of the gathering of all refuge objects, with immeasurable devotion, pray: Lama Rinpoche, the essence of all Buddhas of the three times, have mercy, please bless my being. After praying with unwavering devotion, visualize the guru dissolving into light, dissolving from your crown. Whatever visualization you practice below, it is good to do this well before the session. Second, the preliminary of the instruction has three: inspiring the mind with renunciation, establishing the foundation with refuge, and generating the supreme bodhicitta. First, through the four thoughts that turn the mind, the instruction sequence for definitely arising from all of samsara, the details of which are clear elsewhere, should be practiced until experience arises. Here, assuming that the practice is already familiar, it is done in a way that slightly clarifies it.

In summary, this support of leisure and endowment, no matter how it is examined in terms of cause, nature, number, and metaphor, is extremely difficult to obtain, and if obtained, it has great significance. At this time of obtaining such a thing, one must only practice the sacred Dharma that can obtain lasting happiness. This attainment will not last long either, changing in an instant like lightning in the sky, and like a bubble in the water, one does not know when it will disappear and when it will change, there is no certainty, and if a sudden event occurs, one may die even tonight, and there is not a single bit of certainty that one will not die, so this Dharma should not be postponed to the future, but should be practiced now with determination. At the time of death, not to mention food, wealth, enjoyment, relatives, power, etc., one's own body must also be abandoned, and one must leave the world like a hair pulled from the middle of butter, and one can only follow the karma. There is no way to abandon the sins that have already been committed; there is no way to take away the good deeds that one has not done oneself. The karma that has been created will not be wasted, and the karma that has not been created will not be encountered. Involuntarily, one will be reborn in any high or low place in samsara due to the effect of karma. What if one is reborn in the three lower realms? There is no certainty that one will not be reborn. From now on, one will not commit sins even if it costs one's life. One should diligently practice good deeds, thinking that for this Dharma, one should also make no mistake in accepting and rejecting the cause and effect that will definitely benefit future lives, and make a firm decision in this way. Moreover, no matter where one is reborn in samsara due to the effect of karma, one will not go beyond the nature of the three sufferings. The beings of the evil realms, not to mention suffering, even the mere memory is a painful feeling of discomfort. If one is reborn in a good realm due to contaminated good deeds, those seemingly temporary pleasures are like good dreams during each sleep, which will change and disappear. The success and failure, happiness and suffering of samsara are all alternating, and nothing is permanent, so no matter how good happiness and wealth are, they are meaningless. Therefore, everything done other than the sacred Dharma is futile. Because one has not gone beyond the cycle of suffering, one should also practice the pure Dharma that will definitely benefit future lives and that will completely liberate one from the three realms of samsara, thinking in this way.
