The Heart Jewel of the Three Roots Combined Practice. Jamyang Khyentse Wangpo. The Heart Jewel of the Three Roots Combined Practice. Jamyang Khyentse Wangpo. The Heart Jewel of the Three Roots Combined Practice is hereby presented. Blessings like rain descend, Treasure of accomplishments, Supreme bestower of all desires, Three Roots deities, I prostrate with reverence and bestow the heart jewel of the combined practice. This has four parts: Preliminary practices, Main practice, Accumulation and purification during breaks, Subsequent activities. The first is: In a secluded and agreeable place, if possible, in front of a painting or sculpture of the Three Roots, arrange medicine offerings, rakta, and other offerings, as well as gathering implements, etc., extensively. If that much is not available, then in a kapala or precious vessel, place the essence of pure food and drink, and offerings, etc., arranging the offerings as appropriately as possible, clean and beautifully arranged. In front of oneself, also prepare a vajra bell, skull drum, inner offering, etc. On a comfortable seat, straighten the body. Eliminate the nine rounds of breath. From many aspects, bring to mind renunciation, bodhicitta, and devotion. Then, the actual ritual: Refuge, Bodhicitta, dispelling obstacles, meditating on the protective circle. Blessing the offerings. Of these five, the first is: From one's heart, rays of light radiate, inviting all the deities of the Three Roots of the ten directions and four times, to the sky in front, establishing the refuge as vast as space with Vajra Samaja (藏文,བཛྲ་ས་མཱ་ཛཿ,梵文天城体,वज्रसमाज,梵文罗马拟音,vajrasamājaḥ,金刚集合). Recite: Namo, from now until enlightenment, I and all beings take refuge in the Three Roots deities. The second is: In order to attain the perfect Buddhahood for the benefit of others, generate the mind to meditate on the profound yoga. Connect and recite this three times, then visualize the refuge dissolving into oneself with Ja Hum Bam Hoh (藏文,ཛཿཧཱུྃ་བཾ་ཧོཿ). The third is: Visualize oneself instantly transforming into the form of a wrathful lama. If there is an actual obstacle-dispelling torma arranged, then purify it with Ram Yam Kham (藏文,རཾ་ཡཾ་ཁཾ), bless it with Om Ah Hum Hoh (藏文,ཨོཾ་ཨཱཿཧཱུྃ་ཧོཿ), invite the guests with Om Sarva Bhuta Akarshaya Ja (藏文,ཨོཾ་སརྦ་བྷཱུ་ཏ་ཨཱ་ཀརྵ་ཡ་ཛཿ,梵文天城体,ॐ सर्व भूत आकर्षय जः,梵文罗马拟音,oṃ sarva bhūta ākarṣaya jaḥ,嗡, सर्व भूत 吸引 乍), and dedicate it with Om Sarva Vighnan Balinta Khahi (藏文,ཨོཾ་སརྦ་བིགྷྣཱན་བ་ལིཾ་ཏ་ཁཱ་ཧིས་,梵文天城体,ॐ सर्व विघ्नान बलिन्त खःहि,梵文罗马拟音,oṃ sarva vighnān balinta khāhiḥ,嗡, सर्व 障碍 巴林达 卡卡嘿). Hum! In the nature of reality, the primordially unborn state, all the suddenly appearing deluded obstacles and demons, by the command of the power of awareness and wisdom, are purified and equally play in the realm of the Dharmakaya.

ū deṅs. Sumbha and other fierce mantras are recited to drive away. The fourth is: Hūṃ. A vajra tent that cannot be separated by conceptual signs. Pure other-powered deities, mantras, hand gestures, etc. By the blessing of the supreme perfection of wisdom. The dualistic appearance of deluded obstacles is cut off. Oṃ Vajra Jñāna Rakṣa Hūṃ Bhrūṃ. (Tibetan: ཨོཾ་བཛྲ་ཛྙཱ་ན་རཀྵ་ཧཱུྃ་བྷཱུྃ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: ओँ वज्र ज्ञान रक्ष हुं भृं, Sanskrit Romanization: oṃ vajra jñāna rakṣa hūṃ bhrūṃ, Literal Chinese meaning: Om, Vajra, Wisdom, Protection, Hum, Bhrum) The fifth is: Raṃ Yaṃ Khaṃ. (Tibetan: རཾ་ཡཾ་ཁཾ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: रं यं खं, Sanskrit Romanization: raṃ yaṃ khaṃ, Literal Chinese meaning: Ram Yam Kham) One's own body is visualized as the deity, from the seed syllable at the heart. Raṃ Yaṃ Khaṃ radiates, purifying the offerings and grasping at reality. Oṃ Āḥ Hūṃ, with the great bliss of non-contamination. Whatever enjoyment and music appear. Oṃ Āḥ Hūṃ is blessed three times. Secondly, in the main part, the deity is generated, invited, and requested to be seated. Offering and reciting, urging the commitment. Of these five, the first is: Hūṃ. From the great emptiness of suchness. Compassionate illusion, all appearances, the power of awareness. The single mudra, the seed syllable of the cause, Hrīḥ. (Tibetan: ཧྲཱིཿ, Sanskrit Devanagari: ह्रीः, Sanskrit Romanization: hrīḥ, Literal Chinese meaning: Hrih) Five-colored rays of light appear from the sky like a rainbow. Purifying all containers and contents, in the state of luminous original purity. In the center of the precious immeasurable perfect qualities. Above the lotus sun and moon, the syllable Hrīḥ completely transforms. One's own self is the guru, the embodiment of all, Padmasambhava. White and red, radiant, beautiful with peaceful and wrathful demeanor. Wearing a secret robe, Dharma garment, and cloak. Adorned with a beautiful She'u hat on the head, majestic. The right hand raises the vajra with a threatening gesture. From the tip emanates the fierce guru Heruka. Red in color, the garland of flames is extremely turbulent. Holding a sky iron vajra, with the hand gesture of subduing. Complete with wrathful attire, emanates a cloud of emanations. The left hand in equipoise, holding a skull cup filled with the essence of immortal nectar. Five-colored rays of light, a host of swift goddesses. Extending and gathering, attracting the life essence of existence and peace. In the elbow is the secret consort Mandāravā. With the hidden posture, embracing the khatvanga as a symbolic method. Effortlessly drawing forth the four joys of wisdom. The splendor of the innate great seal blazes. Method and wisdom united, in the posture of a royal game. A sphere of rainbow light, bindus, and swirling light. The master of all phenomena, subduing samsara and nirvana. Abiding as the great glory of the three roots ocean. On the crown of the head is the protector Amitābha, the lord of the family. In the form of an emanation body, above the mudra of equipoise. Holding a blue lapis lazuli begging bowl filled with nectar. In vajra posture.
