The instruction that cuts off superimposition is like a precious ornament. The instruction that cuts off superimposition is like a precious ornament. To Vajradhara and other Kagyu lineage lamas, and to the precious Lord of the World who possesses pure wisdom, I pay homage to the lamas. Following the footsteps of the holy ones, dispelling the darkness of sentient beings' minds, for the sake of faithful ones cutting off superimpositions, I write the instruction that is like a precious ornament. It has three aspects: establishing the view, severing the root of delusion, and placing one's own mind on the scale. First, showing the view: The venerable Naropa also said that the intention of all the tantras is condensed into three aspects: the reality of things, the path, and the order of the arising of the result. The reality of things is the view, which is luminosity and union. In the mind, there are two aspects: unestablished and uninterrupted. Unestablished is pure luminosity, and uninterrupted is spontaneously accomplished union. The antidote to grasping at the self of the person is the view of luminosity; the antidote to grasping at the self of phenomena is the view of union. The view that conceptual thought is luminosity is as follows: The root of samsara and nirvana is the mind. The suchness of the mind, which is primordially pure, is primordially peaceful and unborn. It is primordially free from the extremes of elaboration. It is primordially pure and its essence is pure. Its nature is pure and it is spontaneously accomplished. It is free from the extremes of thought, speech, and difference. It is uninterrupted and unconditioned. It is free from the three: arising, ceasing, and abiding. It pervades all and is not substantial. It has no coming or going and its continuity is unbroken. It is self-arisen great bliss, without defilement. That is coemergent wisdom. The various appearances that appear in this way are the deluded appearances of the habitual tendencies of one's own mind. There is not even a particle of external existence. For example, it is like the hairs seen in the sky by a person with an eye disease. Also, in the Lankavatara Sutra, it says: External objects are not real; seeing external objects is inverted. Habitual tendencies disturb the mind, causing the delusion of appearances to seem real. Therefore, the appearance of external objects is one's own appearance. The mind is primordially the self-arisen dharmakaya. Also, in the Sambhuta Tantra, it says: This self-arisen nature is known as the dharmakaya. In the Second Chapter of Investigation, it says: From oneself and one's own realization, one is not a Buddha.

Sentient beings, in any way, are not truly existent. Hell beings, hungry ghosts, animals, gods, demigods, humans, and worms in the excrement path, etc., are always in a precious state of bliss. In any realm of the world, one will not find a Buddha. Mind itself is the complete Buddha; there is no other Buddha to point out. This is what the Guhyasamaja Tantra says. Abandoning the five skandhas, the twelve ayatanas, and the eighteen dhatus, as well as the grasper and the grasped, through the equal abiding of selflessness of phenomena, one's own mind is primordially unborn, which is the characteristic of emptiness. This is what the Vajra Panjara Tantra says. This is the self-born Bhagavan, liberated from realization from beginning to end. This is what (the tantra) says. The Brahmin teacher also said, "Looking at the primordially pure precious sky, looking and looking again, seeing will cease." Again, "What is primordially unborn is the sky; today, the glorious protector, the lama, has shown it and it is realized." Again, "Since the nature of mind is pure in its essence, it is the stainless supreme state." This is what (the teacher) said. Thus, this is the reality of things. The stages of practice are: In an unfabricated, genuine, natural state, relax awareness and release clinging. In the nature of reality where there is no appearance, non-mentation is the Great Seal. Habits and conceptual thoughts are like mist; do not chase after them with your own hand. Do not chase after thoughts, awareness, and illusions; just as lightning flashes in the sky and naturally disappears, let them liberate in their own place. If muddy water is left still, it becomes clear; if the mind is left still in its own place, conceptual thoughts become clear. Holding onto mindfulness is very important; practice it continuously. This is also what the Vajra Panjara Tantra says: "The realm of phenomena is clear light; whatever one becomes accustomed to, other than that, Buddhas and sentient beings become equal." This is what (the Vajra Panjara Tantra) says. The Sambhuta Tantra also says: "Conceptual thought is great ignorance, which causes one to fall into the ocean of samsara. If one abides in non-conceptual samadhi, one will become like the sky, without action." This is what (the Sambhuta Tantra) says. Entering into the Suchness of Secret Mantra says: "Through meditating on emptiness, liberation will be attained; the remaining meditation is that meaning." This is what (the tantra) says. The Doha also says: "Meditate on great bliss, free from attachment, like a river." This is what (the Doha) says. The above is the order of the path. The order of the arising of the fruit is: After realizing the clear light of the view, the diligence of the path will manifest, and in this life, the supreme
