He spoke of it being like the seven precious things, saying it was a profound Dharma. On the morning of the twenty-fifth, at sunrise, he emitted the sound of Dharma and came to the assembly. Before, I had told you all about death and impermanence, but this morning it has happened to me. Those who see my face will not go to the lower realms. All the birds, mice, and insects in this valley, I will place in the perfect Bodhi, free from dust, in the east. I had thought to do a profound Dharma for you all, but my body would not allow it. You must strive in virtue. Tomorrow, pay the root tax of the Sangha. Having said, "Now, rise up," he appeared to pass into Nirvana. While his body had not yet moved, I did not feel weary. Prepare offerings, make a great Torma for the Dharma protectors. The lineage's supreme lamas, the Yidam heroes and dakinis, the venerable Vajrayogini, and retinues have come. All the Dharma protectors and guardians have come. Countless offering goddesses have come, holding countless arrays of offerings. Umbrellas and victory banners, banners, colored arrows, tsampa offerings, drums and clay drums, drum plates, conches and cymbals, from all directions, all offerings were made. Having said these words, he departed into the Dharmadhatu. The body was invited into the assembly, and remained on the Dharma throne for one night. Inconceivable offerings were made. On the morning of the twenty-seventh, the arrangements for the cremation offerings were laid out. In the visions of the Sangha, there were sounds and lights and cymbals, smoke and rainbows intertwined, a rain of blue flowers falling, and animals also bowing from all directions. Birds proclaimed melodious sounds in the sky. Wisdom dakinis filled the sky. Worldly dakinis sang cremation songs. Inconceivable visions occurred. Geshe Sherab Duldzin and many others circumambulated the charnel ground. In the four directions of the charnel ground, inconceivable offerings were made. Behind the offerings, four heroes, adorned and dressed exceedingly well, were seen making offerings. In the four directions of the charnel ground, the four Victorious Ones of the four families were seen residing. Above the charnel ground, a crystal stupa was seen. Above that, Vairochana, the All-Seeing One, was seen residing.
