Explanation of the Complete Purification of the Fruition Explanation of the Complete Purification of the Fruition Fifth, regarding the first of the two, the ground of cause and the ground of fruition, which is the first of the nine. It is divided into two parts: the root text and the commentary. The first part is divided into two: the Dharma by which one purifies, and the manner in which one purifies. The first part is: the ten kinds of complete purification that will be explained will exhaust all the unfavorable aspects of the first ground and will be obtained through the perfection of qualities. What are these? They are aspiration and the very object of benefit, and so on. The second part is: by practicing these ten without fixating on their inherent nature, one should understand that the unfavorable aspects of the first ground are abandoned, and it is completely purified through the perfection of qualities. These are also as stated in the sutra: "What is the complete purification of the superior intention of one who abides on the first ground?" up to "Acting as it is said, this is the complete purification of true speech." The second part, the commentary, is: the meaning of 'as it is', think by combining the root text and the commentary in order. The basis is all virtuous Dharmas, and in order to accomplish these correctly, one needs an aspiration that is free from deceitful intentions for one's own benefit; and for accomplishing the benefit of oneself and others, one needs benefit, which is upholding the Mahayana Dharma for the benefit of sentient beings; and through cultivating the four immeasurables, having a single-pointed mind of love and compassion, etc., for all sentient beings; and by the practice of not conceptually elaborating on the three spheres, completely giving away all internal and external possessions; and by pleasing the virtuous friend who teaches Dharma to oneself through the three doors of body, speech, and mind; and for the sake of teaching the Dharma to the three types of beings according to their respective capacities, desiring the object of the Dharma that distinguishes the three vehicles; and because one sees distraction as an obstacle to discipline and samadhi, one is not pleased to constantly dwell at home; and through the means of not separating from the recollection of the Buddha, desiring and focusing on the Buddha's body, which is free from all timidity; and truthfully and without concealment revealing the holy Dharma such as the sutras and the teacher's instructions; and by accomplishing the meaning of what has been vowed, it is called truthfulness, possessing such characteristics.
