Explanation of the Method of Entering Explanation of the Method of Entering Secondly, there are three aspects to the method of entering, which is particularly excellent. First, the connecting passage: Secondly, the method of entering is explained. Thus, after dividing through thought, the entry of practicing yoga arises. Secondly, the root is: It should be known. Where? In the method of entering. How? Initially entering the Great Vehicle of cause and effect, and later ascending from higher to higher through the gate of understanding distinctions. What is the Great Vehicle to be entered? There are three aspects to this: nature, number, and the certainty of order. The first is: Because great beings travel by this, it is the Great Vehicle. It also has two aspects, namely, that by which one travels is the Great Vehicle of cause, and that in which one travels is the Great Vehicle of effect. Because the word "vehicle" is established as both action and agent. Among these, from meditative concentration to the complete purification of the three spheres is the Great Vehicle of cause, while the three, such as what should be done, are the Great Vehicle of effect. The second is: These are also summarized into three, namely, from the perspective of self-benefit, benefit of others, and benefit of both, the three, such as meditative concentration, the three, such as loving-kindness, and the three, such as what should be done, are in order. Therefore, the number of these nine is fixed. The third is: The order of these is as follows, namely, initially, because the mind has not been made serviceable, neither self nor other's benefit is accomplished, therefore, after the mind has become stable, through one's own characteristics and signs, through meditative concentration and formless absorptions, one naturally enters the Great Vehicle. After that, after the mind has become stable, in order to train in the two accumulations, through the complete purification of the three spheres, one enters the Great Vehicle of the six perfections, such as generosity. After that, having accumulated the two accumulations, in order to have even greater faith in suchness, one enters the vehicle of the paths, such as the path of seeing, which has suchness as its object. These three, what should be done is the meaning of benefiting others, and actual doing is the meaning of benefiting oneself. After that, turning towards the nature of reality, one enters into benefiting others as one has thought, therefore, one enters the vehicle of the four immeasurables, such as loving-kindness, which are the cause of entering into benefiting others. After that,
