Generally speaking about contaminated and uncontaminated; specifically speaking about contaminated. Commonly determining the tenets of oneself and others, the first of these three, explaining the aggregates, elements, and sources separately; commonly determining there are two, the first also has three. First, regarding the aggregates, there are two: a brief explanation and a detailed explanation. The first is: Because it is made by the gathering and meeting of conditions, it is \"conditioned.\" Because it holds characteristics, it is \"dharma.\" All those, as many as there are, are also included in the aggregate of form, and the aggregate of feeling, the aggregate of perception, the aggregate of mental formations, and the aggregate of consciousness, these five. Among them, because it can be destroyed and broken, it is \"form.\" As many of its kind as there are, because they are mentally piled together in one direction, it is an \"aggregate.\" Because it is experienced, it is \"feeling.\" Because it is gathered and known, it is \"perception.\" Because the mind manifestly forms, it is \"mental formation.\" Because it distinctly knows objects separately, it is \"consciousness.\" Because those and their kinds are mentally piled together in one direction, they are called that and that aggregate. Secondly, there are five, the first is that there are three explanations of the aggregate of form: elaborately distinguishing from the perspective of nomenclature, briefly summarizing from the perspective of characteristics, and separately explaining the meaning of both elaboration and summary. Among these, the five faculties are shown as visible and obstructive, the five objects are explained as visible and obstructive, whether those substantial forms are examined as one or different, and non-revealing form is shown as invisible and unobstructed, these four. The second has two: briefly summarizing from the perspective of nomenclature, and elaborately explaining from the perspective of essence. Among these two, the object of the eye faculty is shown as visible and obstructive, and the objects of the ear faculty and the other four are shown as invisible and obstructive. If asked how many dharmas are in the aggregate of form, if distinguished elaborately, there are eleven kinds of form: the five faculties such as the eye, the five objects such as form, and non-revealing forms. If summarized briefly from the perspective of characteristics, there are two, such as \"This is here,\" \"That is there,\" and so on." } ] ============================================================

Appearances of color and shape can be used by the mind to act on external objects, and by acting on external objects, they become form. Colored objects can produce changes when they come into contact with each other. For example, when a hand touches a flower, its color fades. These two are forms that become such through contact. Among them, the first is visible form, and the second is form with resistance. As stated in the *Abhidharmasamuccaya*: "What is the nature of the aggregate of form? It is the nature of becoming form in two ways: by contact and by acting on external objects." Thus it is said. Among the eleven forms explained, what is the nature of the sense faculty? Because it is invisible in the realm of eye consciousness, it is invisible form. Obstructing the space of other colored objects, it is form with resistance, etc. It can manifest the image of consciousness with the aspect of an object, so pure form is the nature of the sense faculty's colored object. These are the five sense faculties of eye, ear, nose, tongue, and body. As stated in the sutra: "Bhikkhus, the eye is an internal source, caused by the four great elements, it is pure form." Thus it is said. Among them, the eye faculty is located inside the eyeball, shaped like a saffron flower, existing without mixing with each other. The ear faculty is located inside the cochlea, shaped like the awn of a wheat grain. The nose faculty is located inside the nasal cavity, shaped like copper probes arranged side by side. The tongue faculty is shaped like a crescent moon, and in the center of the tongue, there is an area the size of a hair tip that is not covered by the dust of the tongue faculty. The body faculty exists like soft bird feathers all over the inside and outside of the body, from the soles of the feet to the crown of the head. The respective natures of these five faculties are: in order, from "becoming a pure colored change that is the basis of eye consciousness" to "becoming a pure colored change that is the basis of body consciousness." The nature of the five objects of form is: the meaning of becoming the object of eye consciousness. From the perspective of essence, there are two types: color and shape. From the perspective of categories, there are twenty types, from blue and yellow to light and darkness.
