Yes. Because it is said so (in the scriptures). Therefore, some people think that the emptiness analyzed by reasoning such as separation from one and many is a nihilistic emptiness, and practicing it will not generate true wisdom; some say that by not keeping anything in mind and practicing non-conceptualization, one can realize the emptiness that possesses all perfections and generate true wisdom; and some say that by practicing in that way, the consciousness that arises as the nature of clarity and emptiness without grasping is true wisdom. These people's views are undoubtedly adopting the style of the Chinese monks, because they have abandoned the wisdom that analyzes each individually, which is the uncommon cause of non-conceptualization that eliminates the two obscurations. Some previous scholars also say that by familiarizing oneself with the subsequent wisdom that measures appearances as unreal through reasoning, true wisdom will arise, but I do not think this statement is reasonable, because true wisdom is the antidote that eradicates all views of clinging to extremes. One should familiarize oneself with the stream of wisdom that is free from all conceptualizations of clinging to extremes such as existence and non-existence, and that obtains a definitive understanding of the meaning of freedom from extremes in a thorough manner. In this way, when familiarity reaches its peak, true wisdom will arise, because the result arises from where it is in accordance with the cause. Although the reasoning that establishes unreality is the antidote to grasping at reality, it cannot be the cause of true wisdom because it clearly clings to the extreme that has the aspect of refutation. Therefore, the noble one (Nāgārjuna) said: 'The Buddhas have said that emptiness is for the purpose of abandoning all views; but if one clings to emptiness itself, that is also said to be incurable.' Therefore, clinging to the emptiness that refutes true existence is ultimately said to be something that bodhisattvas need to abandon. Therefore, when the reasoning that measures unreality arises, for those with sharp faculties, since the reality to be refuted does not exist, they will understand that the unreality that refutes it also does not exist in reality, and thus even the clinging to unreality will disappear; but for some with dull faculties, if the clinging arises that is led by the power of reasoning and thinks that unreality exists in reality, then unreality itself also does not exist in reality, because the reality to be refuted does not exist.

Therefore, just as a rabbit has no horns. In this way, attachment will cease. Thus, this appearance will not be attached to any extreme of existence or non-existence, but by the power of reason, in a state free from extremes, a wisdom that is deeply certain will arise effortlessly. And to cultivate this wisdom by relying on single-pointed calm abiding is the supreme true yoga. Regarding the method of cultivating yoga as described above, it should be understood that all the great chariot masters of Madhyamaka Prasangika and Svatantrika have no contradictory views. Fifth, the benefit of cultivating such yoga is that when habituation reaches its extreme, all afflictive and cognitive obscurations will be abandoned, because the root of the two obscurations, attachment to reality, will be completely abandoned. As it is said in the Ornament of the Middle Way: The wise, having habituated themselves to the meaning of selflessness of phenomena, after habituating themselves to no self-nature, will abandon without obstruction the afflictions and obscurations arising from reversal. Thus, in order to realize the meaning ascertained by the wisdom of hearing and thinking, the wisdom arising from meditation should be generated through the cultivation of the yoga of uniting calm abiding and insight, which should be learned from the oral instructions of the guru, and therefore it is not written here. This sequence of practicing the meaning of selflessness as it is, was written at the request of faithful disciples by the Shakya monk, Youthful Wisdom, at the Gyalwa hermitage of Rateng (Ra Treng, north of Lhasa). A Brief Explanation of the Madhyamaka View.
