Mostly, it's just fabricated meanings through speculation, Merely scholars in name, not truly understanding the essence. In the teachings of the Buddha, exactly as you intended, The infallible speaker is the noble Nagarjuna. His tenets, like a garden of a hundred thousand pure white blooms, The one who accurately explains them is glorious Chandrakirti. Though many who boast of being wise say, "These teachers' views are like this," who can truly know? Can a blind person discern The clear distinctions of a brightly colored painting? Like a blind person opening a treasure trove of jewels, Though I lack the pure eye of the noble ones, Through the blessings of the Buddhas and their children, I have found this profound path of dependent origination. This is the path that pleases the Buddhas and their children of the past, future, and present, If someone says there is another path to liberation, I have thoroughly understood their falsehood. I beseech the Buddhas and their children residing in the ten directions, To manifest and proclaim with one voice: "Even if there is another path to liberation besides this one," My mind, dear friends, will not waver! Therefore, those who wish to abandon the path of suffering, And enter the path that pleases the Sugatas, Even with hundreds and thousands of hardships and efforts, Should enter this excellent system of Nagarjuna. If you do not understand this, even if you study many scriptures, There is no other way to realize the Sugata's intention. Mostly, it's just to spread the net of speculation, In the end, you only gain the exhaustion of your intellect. Therefore, to refresh my own memory, And to benefit other fortunate beings, And to ensure the long-lasting presence of the Buddha's teachings, I have explained this path of the Buddhas of the three times. Whatever merit arises from striving here with pure intention, May it, like the pure, stainless light of the autumn moon, Dispel the suffering of all beings' afflictions, And cause the garden of the Buddha's teachings to flourish! May I, in all my future lives, Reside on the peak of the snowy mountains of the Buddha's teachings, Be adorned with the burden of the three trainings like matted hair, And roar the lion's roar of emptiness! For those who cling to the towering mountains of eternalist and nihilist views, Who have long resided there and are stained with the dirt of clinging, May they be terrified merely by seeing or hearing my name, May I become such a lion of eloquence! May I always be ordained, Possess the fragrance of pure moral discipline, Not dependent on others,

May the sacred Dharma of the Victorious Ones be upheld by Bhava Thogme! This treatise, entitled "A Lamp Illuminating the Essence of the Madhyamaka-avatara," is written by Shākya Bhikṣu Zhonnu Lodrö, who has comprehended the meaning of all the Sugata's scriptures as the non-extreme Madhyamaka. It was composed at the great Dharma College of glorious Sakya. May this benefit the teachings and many sentient beings! Branch of Accomplishing the Task ༀ་སྭསྟི་སིདྡྷ྄ཾ། (Tibetan, Devanagari: ओंस्वस्तिसिद्धि, Romanized Sanskrit: oṃ svasti siddhiḥ, Literal Chinese meaning: Om, auspiciousness, accomplishment) Not bound by the shadows of biased attachment, the deity established by valid cognition, who is both witness and eye, the Mandāra, the pillar of offering for the three realms, may the Guru, the King of the Shakyas, protect this being. Not found by gods, sages, or accomplished ones, and cannot be represented by wish-fulfilling jewels, etc., no matter how many great rivers of Dharma doors flow, they do not follow the nectar of the profound Madhyamaka. Deep, peaceful, free from elaboration, luminous, uncompounded, the Worldly Lamp, possessing the ten powers, also said, "What I have realized, others cannot know." For a while, he set aside the great sound of Dharma, although the path of the Sugatas of the three times is this, because of the fear that the minds of those to be tamed would fall into the abyss of permanence and annihilation, he taught by means of direct and indirect methods. Just as seeing the ocean gives rise to fear, although one cannot enter into its ways, the words of the fully enlightened Buddha flutter like a crest jewel, with the arms of reason and scripture raising the boat of Dharma, the noble Nāgārjuna, the wise captain, places beings on the jewel island of liberation. Like extracting butter from milk, this essence of Dharma, opened up the great path of definitive meaning. A friend who opens the garden of Kundas of that treatise, not tiring of entering the cloud path of Madhyamaka, the cool rays of glorious Chandrakirti, illuminate everything like the light of day. The profound Vajra realm of his intention, although many Indian and Tibetan scholars have opened it, in order to teach what is difficult to understand with few words, the excellent speech of the Sakyapa, the master of the complete teachings, who is praised as the best and most outstanding of all, has auspicious petals that gather the essence of the treatise, and the great source of benefit and happiness of the great commentary, in order to accomplish the wishes of the venerable Lama.
