Having thus gained certainty on the profound path of dependent arising, even other debaters cannot refute those who speak of dependent arising in the slightest. This is because they do not commit to any position of their own system. However, as long as they have not realized the realm of reality, they do not cling to anything in the way they cultivate faith and attention. In terms of conventional reality, they engage in acceptance and rejection of temporary and ultimate goals without any difference from those who are attached. As long as conceptual thought has not ceased, they will unerringly comprehend the path of dependent arising, which is merely the nature of conditions. Therefore, since they do not cling to anything, they do not abide in the extreme of permanence; and since they engage in all acceptance and rejection, they do not abide in the extreme of annihilation. Therefore, they abide in the Middle Way, which is free from permanence and annihilation. When the realm of reality, which is free from all elaboration, is directly realized, although there is no engagement in acceptance and rejection because it is free from all disputes, there will be no fault of annihilation, because all conceptual thoughts have been abandoned, and therefore the relationship of cause and effect is not perceived. Since worldly conventions and the conventions of other proponents of philosophical systems are equally false, why do Madhyamikas accept worldly conventions but not those of other proponents of philosophical systems? Because worldly conventions are the object of non-conceptual activity, they can be accepted without the application of reason. Therefore, accepting them does not contradict the position of the Madhyamika, who is free from all positions, and through this, it is also possible to guide worldly beings. However, all proponents of philosophical systems establish their own positions after applying reason. Therefore, their conventions cannot be accepted without the application of reason. Even if some positions are accepted after applying reason, the Madhyamika's own position will be harmed. Therefore, although they are equally erroneous, Madhyamikas accept worldly conventions, but not the imputed conventions of proponents of philosophical systems. How can one guide the world

If, in order to guide others, one accepts worldly conventions, just as one acknowledges the tenets of other philosophical schools in order to guide their followers, is this reasonable? If, in order to gradually lead those of lesser intelligence, one temporarily accepts the tenets of higher schools, thereby refuting the views of lower schools, that is not unreasonable. However, in that case, the speaker is not a Madhyamika, because he favors the tenets of some realist in order to refute others. This method is like some doctors who treat patients by gradually administering medicines that ripen the disease, gather it, eradicate it, and prevent it from recurring. As stated above, relying on an undeluded understanding of the two truths to refute all extreme views is like taking a single dose of a powerful herbal medicine that eradicates all diseases at once. Refutation of the inherently existent nature of other-emptiness.
