First, for those who have not correctly understood the meaning of the treatises, and whose habits of clinging to things in beginningless samsara have fully matured, who hear the Dharma without separating from the friend of clinging to things, relying on the spirits that cause harm in the world. If the ways in which the world arises, which are many and vast, are not shown, it will not be possible to avert the spirits that cause harm in the world. Therefore, for the time being, let us explain the classification of the two truths. Therein, the distinction between the two truths is shown generally, and their respective essences are explained individually. The first part also includes the distinction between the direct and the ancillary, showing the distinction of false appearances. Regarding the first part:\n\nAll things are obtained through true and false seeing,\nAnd the clinging to the self-nature of things occurs.\nWhatever is the object of true seeing, that itself,\nIs said to be the conventional truth of mistaken seeing.\n\nThus it is said. This is because the Buddhas, the Bhagavat, who know the essence of the two truths without error, have closely shown that all internal and external things are clung to as having two essences. That is, the ultimate truth and the conventional truth. Among them, the ultimate truth is that which is obtained as the self-nature object in the field of the correct wisdom of the noble ones. The conventional truth is that which is obtained as the self-nature object by the power of ignorance, through the false seeing of those whose eyes of wisdom are obscured by the cataracts of ignorance. Of these two, self and other, whatever is the object of true seeing is that which is free from all the characteristics of elaboration, such as existence and non-existence, permanence and annihilation, knowable and knowing, and which has no designation to be clung to. It is something to be realized by the noble ones in the manner of individual self-awareness, and that is what is called the ultimate truth. The object of mistaken seeing is the Dharma, from form to omniscience, which is named and established as persons and dharmas through speech and conceptualization. These are what the Buddha spoke of as the conventional truth. Truth" } ] ============================================================

If asked, are these two one or different? They are neither one nor different, because these are established in dependence on each other. If something depends on something, then it is not the same as that thing, because there is no need for oneself to depend on oneself. Nor is it different, because if the dependent does not exist, then from the place of dependence it is also not different, and if it exists, then there is no need to depend on others. Therefore, the teacher said: What arises in dependence on what, that is temporarily not that itself, nor is it other than that, therefore it is neither annihilation nor permanence. This is what is said. If asked, how are these two truths established in dependence on each other? In dependence on the truth, it is established as falsehood, and in dependence on falsehood, it is established as truth. The detailed distinction between the two truths, because it has been explained elsewhere, is not recorded here. Second, regarding the distinction of illusion, it also includes: showing the distinction between object and subject, giving examples of false objects, and explaining that therefore the world will not harm it. From the first aspect, illusion is also considered to be of two kinds: clear sense and defective sense. The consciousness of those with defective senses is considered to be inverted relative to the consciousness of those with perfect senses. And so on. If we distinguish illusion, there are also two kinds: clear consciousness of the six senses that are not defiled by internal and external causes, and defective consciousness of the six senses that are defiled by internal and external causes. Among them, suffering from cataracts and jaundice, and eating Datura flowers, etc., are internal factors that harm the tangible senses. Sesame oil and water, mirrors and rock caves, etc., and sunlight, etc., are external factors that are close to harming the senses, because under these influences, even without internal disturbing factors, images, cataracts, echoes in rock caves, and reflections of the moon in water, etc., will appear. Similarly, mantras and medicines, etc., prepared by ophthalmologists, etc., are also external factors. The factors that harm the mind sense are those that are not correct sects, etc., and like inference.
