Because, for anything, impermanence is powerful, while existence does not possess power. Furthermore, does impermanence itself arise simultaneously with the characterized conditioned phenomena, or does it arise later? In order not to confuse the characteristic with the characterized, if impermanence itself always exists in time, then existence is not eternally existent, because impermanence, which contradicts it, is always associated with it. If one wants to avoid that fault and wants to be associated with impermanence later, then because it previously possessed existence, it has already become permanent, and if it becomes impermanent by being associated with impermanence later, then one thing is both permanent and impermanent, which is not reasonable. Moreover, in order not to confuse the characteristics of conditioned phenomena, if existence and impermanence exist simultaneously in the characterized thing, then impermanence in the thing becomes false, because existence exists. Or, the existence of existence becomes false, because impermanence exists.
